The thing is that trade is a lot more complex than it used to be and everyone has abandoned the gold standard. An economist named Hume had an equation of exchange: MV = PT. I'm not going to go into much detail, but since the gold standard is dead, we can't go by this equation anymore. Moral is that everything changes and the gold standard will remain dead in our time and years to come.

Matt Johnston I worked at a bank for half a decade, tellers don't give a shit. they don't pay attention and aren't trained. they just keep passing fake bills from customer to customer to cover their possible loss. once a customer leaves the bank with the money and come back with a claim of a fake bill the manager comes out, makes up some bullshit as to why they can't take it and pass the loss to the customer. I've seent that shit, many times.
@mattjohnston2
@mattjohnston2 7 жыл бұрын
INHALED MEMES the point is they're far more likely to detect it than a small shop owner. And if they do, they won't take it at that point. And you can argue that tellers don't make enough to care, but realistically, they're not going to jeopardize their job over it either.

He only sold 20% of the bills. So it was closer to $15 million. Of course he had expenses too (including attorney fees). Counter-fitting is basically a white collar crime. That he counter-fitted a foreign currency was one of his better choices. There is more to the story. The US turned the case over to Canada. They are probably trying to get information from him on criminal organizations in Canada.

Dirt Detector Toilet paper is made of paper too. If you think it has no value, just wait until you've taken a dump and realized that you're out. Value is subjective.

magreen85 thats not the point. The point is you can eventually buy more toilet paper. Trees grow all the time. But precious metals are dwindling away and at the rate that mankind is searching for it it may diminish sooner than we think. That's what you fail to understand

He wouldn’t have to pay double. People assume incorrectly that companies in other countries know what an old American president looks like. To them it’s just a portrait watermark.
