As long as you use fresh eggs it is not really a problem. Just if you are pregnant or just sensitive on some foods and stuff, you should use a different kind of buttercream.

Since they only use the egg whites it's not a problem. Salmonella and other bacteria that could make you sick are only in the egg yolks.

you can pasteurize the eggs if you have a huge concern, but, I'm sure it should be okay. salmonella in eggs has a very low chance, but, nothing wrong with wanting to be on the safe side :)
