This would also make a great diner activity… make the cakes just the way you did… but make four or five different icings (buttercream, banana, strawberry, cherry, choco), and have different add ins like sprinkles and m&m’s… then have a jar cake assembly dessert. I think it would be a hoot!

I really appreciate the hacks you provided for the boxed cake mix. Mom did the same thing, except you would always add some sort of extract. Strawberry, almond, vanilla.. whatever was appropriate One thought, you could maybe make the cakes two different flavors like strawberry and almond. That way almost each bite is going to taste a little different but good. 🤷🏼‍♂️ BTW that parchment paper with sprinkles on it looked a lot like your dress. We can tell you like cute colors like that.

You was confused when I saw the title/thumbnail. I thought you would pour the batter into the jars and then bake the cake inside the jars 😂 Anyway, what you did was a really cool idea. If you made it chocolate and decorated with very fluffy light frosting, you could make it look like a foamy milkshake or root beer

I want to try this for a bake sale.. I already use butter and milk in cake mixes, and add sour cream to make it moist. My question is this.. are you filling 2 pans with ONE cake mix? I can barely cover a regular 9/13 pan with one mix.. the batter is very thick.. not sure if it's the brand Duncan Hines. the sour cream, or the fact that the box mix is expired.. I get them from a bent and dent store. The batter isn't that thick in the pan, no thicker than it would be in the sheet pan.. any advice before I try this for the first time? I bought sheet pans today for this.
