This does say a lot. Matt's insecurities about never being as good as Tony Robbins yet a lot of us love Matt way more than we care for Tony Robbins. Who cares if there's a bigger guy with a better stage presence than Matt, he's still more important to his fans than Tony. This is the case for everyone else. There will always be people who will love you more even if there are better more successful more beautiful people out there. It's the connection that you make with someone and the friendship that you cultivate that makes you irreplaceable.

agree! I used to òlike Tony Robbins, but the more I see his stuff the more a scam it seems to be. I mean, yes a lot of what he says is good but many things are toxic and misogynist. Matthew is better, he show a great deal of empathy and doesn't think he's hot stuff, in the sense he always tries to better himself and stays humble. I seriously dislike Tony Robbins..! I gather he has some good things to say but it feels like you're being shouted at. I get that he has some vocal issue or health problem that affects his voice, but i personally just cannot listen to it. It makes me tense up. I've also seen some of his treatment of people on camera and he comes across as a bully. Maybe that's what some people want in a coach, but it sure as hell is not what i want..! Matt on the other hand is super easy on the ear (as is Stephen). So weird to even think he's comparing himself to Tony Robbins. Big and dominating does not equal better!!
@natural91LC3 жыл бұрын
@@user-vn9sh6hv8r yep, exactly. he seems to be a bully with his clients (let's face it that's what they are). For my personal history, being shouted at , triggers my trauma and I don't learn or improve. I get that tough love is needed sometimes and that lots of people do improve with this stronger approach but he's on a whole another level.

1. Not everyone is our cup of tea. It holds true for Tony Robbins, who is mentioned in the video. There is something in his appearance ( essence as you call it) and presentation that is very repelling to me. He exudes very strange vibes. 2. I disagree with your statement that circumstances can entirely erode confidence. Yes, maybe "confidence", which is brittle, composed of and based on external validation. But if the foundation of our inner confidence is firm, the circumstances can still shake us a bit and elicit some self-doubt but at the same time awake our warrior's spirit and faith that we would be able to sort things out and overcome them. 3. Speaking about confidence in dating. I like this quote: "I won't settle for some man just because he is better than no man. I need passion, fire and assurance this relationship is almost as good as the one with myself, and it's a hard standard to meet". 😁

Essence is real. My BTS bias was one of the guys considered one of the most handsome, but then I started noticing one of the rap line guys, and I just loved his personality and the way he carries himself, his essence. He's my bias now. I'm ot7, not a solo stan, but I can't resist his essence.
Regarding this "I'll be confident when...", remember sometime in the past you said that, and now your living that future from that past. Therefore, be happy for what you already achieved. You'll do it again :)

Thank you so much for this, Matthew! One of the things I appreciate the most about you is how you try to encourage people in all parts of life (not just dating and relationships) and point us toward self compassion. But when we focus on those insecurities, we miss the joy and blessings we have and dim the light that we bring to the people around us!

Absolutely, charisma is not only the obvious measures. Confidence is not only produced by perfectionism, it's created by getting up again when we failed. I like the fuck it approach. Matthew, I have heard many many public speakers, advisors, and motivators, but their message about what confidence is lies on external shallow aspects that are so fragile they can dissipate any moment and destroy our confidence as you mention. Those messages deep down lack something and also they make me feel like confidence is something unreachable for me. On the other side, you are the very first one who talks about the own essence. For the first time I get a hint of what can be a new road of self discovery. Your message makes so much sense. Thank you!

I can relate to this is so many ways. Until recently I had been dating a girl that I thought was out of my league. My insecurities weren't there initially, but lockdown, work issues, trying to be the best dad to my son, all these crept into my life and I ended up in a deep depression. I wasn't good enough, for anyone. When we went our separate ways recently. I started eating better, training more spending more time on myself, but my mind keeps coming back to the same thing. 'She left because I wasn't good enough'. I blew it. I truly love(d) her.

So find ways to work on it. I used to be like this but I had great friends and family kind of keep me aware of when I was doing things above what I needed to do, and when people were taking advantage of my kindness. I eventually got out of that habit. Now I have plenty of people, besides long time friends or family members, who like me for me. I am enough because I set appropriate boundaries at work, in my social life, and when I feel like dating again post-covid, it'll carry out there too.

A couple of pointers before jumping into a new relationship: ▪️Are you self-sufficient or you're waiting for someone else to make you happy? ▪️Do you have ill feelings towards your ex? ▪️How are your non romantic relationships? Do you have a circle of friends? ▪️Do you take care of your mental and physical health? You don't have to have everything together before you enter a new relationship. It's all work in progress. I have a video about it on my channel if you're interested.

I've signed up to the event. Collaborating with Charlotte Tilbury is such a clever idea and I love both of your work, so this is very exciting!
Great and interesting video! I'd say, however, that the things we do to ameliorate certain areas of our life, like getting in a better shape, concentrating on our career, learning a new language etc do have an effect on confidence, but not because of the final result we achieve but because of the process. This is fundamental in children education: it's not the result that matters, it's the process. When we engage in something to get better at it, we get more confident because the process itself changes and adds something to our essence that cannot be taken away even when we stop doing that thing. For example, if I start going to the gym, not only do I become fitter, but I also learn something about my body, I get acquainted with new techniques, I slowly improve my discipline, I get to know more people (improving my ability to interact with them) etc. It's these things that deeply affect my essence and my confidence, not the getting a better body per se, and they will remain even if I stop going to the gym.
Your magic is you're authentic positively , your funny and compation way , you're very good in connection with people , makes who watching you feel comfort ❤️

Nothing in life is guaranteed. If it matters, you will put forth the effort. That’s the difference between success and failure for anything. I admire this famous person.. because what I see in him is he is confident in what seems like a very core level. If he’s annoyed, or sad or tired. He shows it. Even in tv. If he’s not feeling it today, he kind of just accepts that. As someone always “on” he can still be quiet and feel like that’s ok, because he knows he matters even if he doesn’t give it his all today. Tomorrow he might be feel like being a goofy entertainer again but it’s all good. Either way he is, he knows he’s enough. That’s something I think is the best level of confident we can become. Because I don’t believe we should be confident in all areas of life. I might still feel worth something as a person, I might have confident on the outside but I think it’s ok to have things in your life steal your confidence. I don’t believe in being a super human all the time. I don’t believe in giving it your all. Being high achieving all the time. All I believe is this: whatever I am today, is enough. I am enough.
I've watched your videos for a while now and there is one topic you have never addressed that I really think should be addressed when dealing with dating. Competition. When dealing with someone who tries to Interfere with Mr.right.

Nothing is for certain and permanent. So, I don't really see any solution to this except perhaps one thing: if it's right it should be easy. And if you lose you'll find another way. Also, being insecure is inherently human and it comes and goes. Life will find a way. Omg I needed to hear this vedio. I had the most devastating break up with diagnosed sociopath. I lost my complete confidence. How can I my old Ritu back.
Absolutely we connect to your essence. Thank you Matthew Hussey!

I would go as far as saying your essence is something we can't describe and put into words. To me it is a unique energy coming from that person. To me it is not a characteristics that we can name. We can try and describe what someone is like, yet there are other people who also fit that description, yet they all have a different essence. You could walk into a room full of babies and feel that every single one of them has a unique energy. They 'Just Are' . . . . Your essence is your superpower.

Trying to replicate social norms destroys self confidence. Understand yourself and work with your values. Own it and be it.
