I saw them at Glastonbury in June. I was with some friends who’d seen them in Liverpool 2 years ago but I had no idea what to expect. They were truly one of my highlights of Glastonbury and I’ve already bought tickets to see them again in Manchester in November They’re great (in my humble opinion)

Well they seem very nice. Saw them in Brighton, cold/not heard anything, and thoroughly enjoyed their show. Would recommend - breath of fresh air.

Just love this band. I listen to their music and I think: I know exactly what their teenage record collection was. In fact, that was MY teenage record collection! Great to hear their new take on it all, but still be able to discern the references. ❤

so interesting how they take a lot of inspiration from Basement Jaxx, I recently rediscovered my love for their track "Red Alert", I was too young to enjoy it in clubs and stuff, so I always imagine what it must've been like to hear them live/hear Red Alert in a club setting. And also makes sense that I recently discovered these guys and fell in love with their style too!

The Bee Gee's formed in Australia. The member's are English (born there, sound it, and claim it while living there....)...technical's aside, lots of English became Aussie icons because the country gave them perspective. You can have Tony Abbott back though.

They were born in UK but they grew up in Australia. They first established themsleves as a music group in Australia too, even got their name from the race track they first performed at here, they moved back to UK when the fame started to pick up. There's an entire street dedicated to them basically an outdoor museum called Bee Gees Way, dedicated to their upbringing in Redcliffe. Barry opened it
@jonathanbowen3640 Жыл бұрын
@@jonpguthrie Professionally speaking they are British (and to a lesser extent American) though. They did essentially nothing of note until they moved to Britain and started to make music. Pre Britain they didn't exist. I would suggest that in fact they never were established in Aus. No one listens to the Australian era Bee Gees and they never will. Spicks and specks was recorded in Aus but by the time it was released they were already leaving.
@jonpguthrie Жыл бұрын
@@jonathanbowen3640 Yes but what I was saying is they formed in Australia, their name originated here too, and they did grow up here pre Bee Gees and as they were starting out. Barry Gibb opened Bee Gees Way himself which you should probably visit to understand. There's photos of them all as kids in the area, and he talks about growing up in Redcliffe and them all diving off the pier. They spent their childhood in Australia
