Awesome. I set up Jira boards and do a lot of what you have explained. But learnt something new - was able to add a field 'EPIC' to Issue Detail View. Will make it so handy for the teams. Usually I am clicking on the specific Jira, opening in a new window, going in 'Edit' mode to update the EPIC. Roundabout way.. I will certainly be back for more of your videos..

Hi Pramitha, adding team members is quite straightforward. In the issue there's a field called 'assignee', which should be set to who ever in your team the issue is assigned to. When your team members log into Jira, and go into a Board, there is an option filter on the main screen called 'Only My Issues' at the top. John

Hi Speckels, The workflow is the key construct of the board, and swim lanes are categorized from the board card's attribute or values.

Under each column in the world that are statuses can we as Admins add more statuses as required or is this something that a JIRA admin must do on the workflow end by adding status in the workflow so it would show up in the board?

Hi - Is there any way you can have a brief summary of this on the latest version of Jira? Some of the settings are different, it was a little hard to follow as the navigation on the current version of JIRA cloud is different. This was however a very useful video!

The process of setting up a Kanban board with custom swim lanes seems so over-complicated. You have to go through 20 different screens to finally get it to work. This funtionality should be available right there on the board overview screen. Has this been simplified with the new Jira UI?

There is no need to share a board with two or multiple teams. If all members are working for a same product, they should use same kanban board, otherwise keep them separate

Create 2 custom date fields, and update that through automation or work flow transition post function. If it not depend on status change then add those fields to the specific screen and ask the executor to update the value manually

Hi Stu, at 1:09 the board shown in background is talking about fundamental kanban way of board, When Kanban was started there was no ALM tools like Rally or Jira, Now Tools support Kanban, and each tool have their own capabilities. Jira does not have Options to create sub columns, You can create additional columns, but that will defeat the purpose of WIP limit. So you can configure card colors based on Dev Done state, keep Dev In Progress and done in same column, so that they can be under same WIP Limit.

I activated the backlog, and created an Issue. The moment I created an issue, it automatically went into ToDo. How do I stop that behavior? Also, i did not see an option to add sprint. I get the option on Jira Cloud Software, but not on LocalHost.

Hey, What do you mean by "activated the backlog", any issue will go to the first state of your workflow, when created. Todo may be your first state of the workflow.
