JIGNESH PATEL a HART AI or AO module can communicate to HART devices for re-ranging or reading a second variable for a transmitter. It can do all this while still using the conventional 4-20 mA signal. Foundation Fieldbus (FF) is strictly a digital only protocol and not compatible with 4-20 mA. You can have multiple devices on a FF segment that are hooked in parallel and all communicate back to the FF module. This saves on wiring. FF Fieldbus devices are also capable of executing logic right in the device.

Sir ,the Actual mode of the analog input AI block of my Level transmitter is in OOS can i change this using trex communicator?

I have never tried making this mode change from a Trex Communicator. Is your system using Foundation Fieldbus? Otherwise, I don’t think you can use the Trex to make the change.

I’m sorry. I’m not familiar with ORCAView. It is a different piece of software in this video. This video is for Emerson’s DeltaV control system, not ORCAView.

master, why download the controle completely and not just the card?

If you download the card and the controller still has a blue triangle, you will need to download the controller as well. I may have went one level too high in the video, you may only need to download the controller when you add a whole new card to the DeltaV system. If downloading just the card removes all blue triangles, you are good to just do the card. Thanks for checking!

I haven’t use Oviation DCS, only DeltaV. But I see Oviation is an Emerson product. To download DeltaV you need to have access to a Guardian account at guardian.Emerson.com. To have access to Guardian you need to have purchased a Guardian Support contract. If the company you work for has Guardian Support, you should be able to gain access.

@@rockmacwan3533 haha, okay. DeltaV Explorer is where you enable inputs and outputs. Control Studio is where you program logic and DeltaV Operate (Configure) is where you configure the graphics.
