Great channel, real world problems with real world solutions, would love to see a video on the window being made, crazy lead times.

Hi. Luckily we came up with a solution for the window lead time. If you have seen our early episodes you will know that once we get the customers moved back in we have a good sized single storey extension to the rear of the property as well so our plan is to remove the current kitchen window earlier than planned and modify this to suit upstairs. It is exactly the same height and width as the current first bedroom windows which are two side hung opening lights left and right and a fixed glazed panel to the centre so I will cut one of the opening lights out and make good the the casement rebate to give us the same proportioned window to match. WELL! that's the plan anyway watch this space Thanks for commenting on our channel

Much easier to fit door frames when you actually have the door imo. Clamp the frame around the door on the floor, using 5mm spacers. Pin it in place to some scrap timber in a couple of places. Then you can lift ii it in place as one piece and when you fit the door it should go in easy without any trimming required.

Hi. Just like fitting a door set then really except a lot cheaper than buying a door set. We have found that with the doors on site they can get damaged or swell with the moisture from plastering so we tend to buy them last minute. I agree with your idea but despite my moaning on camera I make sure that there's no cutting of the door required. However what I do is get myself a few folding wedges and before I fit the architrave to the rebate side I tap them in as required to make sure I've got my 2p gap all around the perimeter of the door even though with a fire door needing intumescent brush strips its closer to £1 coin. Cheers for commenting mate as always

Have you used a steel plate where the rsj/steel beams cross over the wall for weight distribution?

What’s the time frame for a job like this? There’s a hell of a lot more to it than meets the eye isn’t there? Cool vid as always.

Hi Billy, your are right there is a lot going on and with the customers asking us to do more our timeframes have gone. The current extras our plaster the whole of the first floor, fit new skirting boards and tile the down stairs family bathroom as well. its all go Billy thank you very much for your continuing support.

Why do you not bother with the velux insulated sleeves?
@Mr_A_Builders Жыл бұрын
Hi Luke and thanks for commenting. Apart from foam filling any small gaps around the window we also fit 25mm insulation to the cheeks, top and bottom of the window as well and then plasterboard on top of that. Thanks for watching
