Kit was pretty vocal of how disappointing the finale was before it came out. I know he also said when he got the part he started reading the books and couldn't stop himself from devouring them. As a side note there were some rumors or news articles about him seeking mental help after the end of the show because it weighed so heavily on him. It's honestly the most intriguing part of the show for me, the fact that he came up with the pitch. It gives me hope that it's not a shameless cash grab and could actually do some good character service. Here's hoping.

My guess so far was that he simply lost passion for the story but given that he seems enthusiastic about a Snow sequel show BEFORE the book series is even finished thereby acknowledging the show ending to be in the ball park of where the story will go makes me question that.

Kit has spoken about how hard it was for him to get over the fact that he wouldn't be playing Jon Snow again, and he's had a good few mental health struggles between the end of the show and now. So I do have faith in him that maybe it is a passion project to give himself closure in some way, meaning that I think it'll likely be character-oriented first and foremost. I can think of very few ideas of what any sort of plot could be, but of course the Night Queen idea and getting into the beyond-the-Wall mysteries would at least be cool. Ideally of course I'd like the show version of things to get buried, but to hear GRRM speak with such enthusiasm gives me hope that at least something good could be salvaged.

Although i don’t think it’s exclusively said. As you said Jon doesn’t even care for dragons either, he didn’t even mention Rhaegals death lol. Giving Drogon to Jon would also just piss of the Daenerys fans. If any dragons show up I hope it’ll be an ice dragon. Give Jon his own unique thing and let Drogon retire in peace.

If you do a 10-year time skip, the necessity to address the Dany issue diminishes. In that period Jon will have worked through his anguish over killing her, and most people will mostly think of it as an "Oh yeah, that happened" moment. With regards to addressing King Bran, keep in mind that The North is now an independent kingdom, so he has no real business there anymore.

just imagine if they made a nights queen who’s been kept locked away by the night king. He was sealing the nights queen and tried to be proactive in the attack against the thing that could free her. He got UnExPeCtEdLy killed and now she’s the new threat with neither Dany or the night king to stop her. Imagine if Bran has been prepping for the fight but dies at the start of the show before he can tell to much. We could have a fun Sam and Jon mystery plot to figure out wtf Bran left behind to take care of the nights queen. We could learn about the limits of Bran’s power without the hassle of dealing with overpowered bran and get a retcon for Jon’s resurrection as this is the true reason he was resurrected instead of in the fight against the night king. Before George confirmed this rumor, i was pissed. But now i don't know how do i feel. I mean, the fact he's involved in this project means it's ust another distraction from him finishing the book. The way GoT ended with Jon and Tormund on the horses as all the Wildings are walking through the woods around them kinda undeniably looks like White Walkers and Whites. I think they should take the story into the whole idea of Jon becoming the new Night King, that he was always the successor to the Night King and that’s why the NK waited a thousand years to attack, for his successor to have been born and this would work as a fail safe if he should be killed. That would explain why the NK never outright killed Jon, even when he could have easily done it, even when he raised the dead to stop him they moved really slow and had him surrounded…almost as if they were commanded not to kill him. I think this theory has a lot of potential to work, I just hope this show has something to do with the White Walkers in general because their end in GoT was so disappointing.

I think a story could be that Jon keeps going into the lands of always winter to find things related to the whitewalkers. Maybe he has had visions that seem to hint at somethings being there still. Another way could be that Brann found something while warging around and sends a message to Jon to go and look into it. I could also see him looking for Benjin, last he knew he was still alive (somewhat).

Honestly, I would be very interested if the idea is to explore the Lore of the White Walkers and fix what was done. Perhaps Jon will connect with his past, seeing Rhaegar and his prophecy of the song of ice and fire in a vision, discovering himself in dealing with his guilt and having a dark fate with the Others. There's so much that D&D has left out in this Jon-Stark-Rhaegar-Targaryen-Others-LongNight-AzorAhai connection. Maybe it could be interesting.

Like Dinklage, he gave this interview in which he seemed to be totally annoyed and disappointed with D&D but recently he bashed the GOT fandom and said they just didn't like the ending because their expectations were not met and they were sad that it ended.

To answer your question about Kit's thoughts on the ending, he gets a lot of flack for supporting it in interviews and justifying Dany's arc. BUT to be fair to Kit, the guy had to go to rehab after the show ended, couldn't even talk about the Jon-kills-Dany scene out loud because it made him so emotional, and he's still yet to watch the final season. So if we go by his actions rather than his likely HBO publicist-fed-words, yeah, Kit fucking hated the ending. I'm on the fence about what the show would be about though. Part of me thinks we're getting a Dexter-New-Blood mini-series that's only purpose is to kill Jon in the end so Kit can put him to rest for good, but maybe just in a way he finds satisfying. With all the work he's been getting lately, I really can't see him committing to something that's multiple seasons long. He's acted in a show for multiple seasons before, but he's never had to WRITE for a show for multiple seasons before, and to do it right, that'd be the harder task I would think. Night's Queen is the only fantasy-worthy idea I can think of that doesn't involve a Dany resurrection, otherwise it would just be 'Jon and co frolic in the snow for 10 episodes.' He's not even a warg on the show for chirstssake. But Night's Queen feels just a bit too much of a retread of past plots. Yeah, the white walker ending was really unsatisfying but doing another series who's premise is basically "BUT WAIT, they're actually NOT all gone and there's one that's EVEN WORSE!" seems equally unsatisfying. That's the worst tactic for writing new material for shows like this. You start with a small villain in S1 and then by S10 you've got simple humans fighting literal god or whatever. It's just silly. My vote is for resurrected Dany with S8 retcon via Three-Eyed-Raven mind-control cop-out. The foundation's already basically laid for this with Bran's "Why do you think I came all this way" to Tyrion in the Dragon Pit scene and "You were exactly where you were supposed to be" to Jon before he went back to the Wall. The argument for villain-Bran is already made because he knew what would happen to the people of King's Landing and didn't stop it. To get rid of him (something most everyone agrees was a dumb choice, even if it did supposedly come from GRRM himself) and bring back / redeem Dany in the process, I'd be down. As you said, Emilia could just be lying, as one does, to hide the real plot of the show. Everyone swore up and down Jon was dead in S6 until he came back, didn't they? I can only hope for the same for Dany.

HBO creating the ‘Snow show’ and hearing GRRM confirm this show has been in the works for years, is absolutely brilliant! What an exciting opportunity to continue Jon’s story, and potentially continue any/many of the dozens of plot lines that were dropped as the tv series progressed. Finally, fans and show actors alike could be blessed with an ending far more true to GRRM’s tale. A Game of Thrones reboot/continuation of Jon’s journey, drawing in surviving characters and exploring the deeper significance of the blue winter rose.

I’m not sure about Kits opinion about the ending but I remember seeing how emotional he got after he filmed his last scene as Jon Snow. You can see the character truly meant a lot to him so maybe he wasn’t satisfied with Jons ending as well. Hopefully with SNOW we get to see more of Jons bond with Ghost and maybe Jon meets that skin changer guy from Dance of Dragons north of the wall (who could be another villain).

It seemed like I was alone in my enthusiasm for this project in the comments for the last video. Glad to see more people open to it now that GRRM has opened up and stamped his seal of approval. I understand the skepticism that remains. But I think Kit - and GRRM for that matter - felt much the same way we all did about the way that the series ended. Anything following the wretched Season 8 will have a lot of baggage to carry. But GRRM's post has given me some confidence in this project. D&D left so much on the table in terms of the original Jon story, and of course the ending of the novels. I'm very much in support of a sequel series that finds a way to be true to that. Val and the Night's Queen have been mentioned a lot and I love the idea of bringing these characters into the fold. Depending on the scale of the show, we could even see the Starks dealing with the arrival of Faegon, in response to which they must seek out the true Targaryen heir. There is tremendous potential here, and if we can set aside our anger at the version of Jon that D&D suppressed and dismantled over the course of Season 8, this could be something fantastic.

After watching the end of GOT I can now understand Emilias explanation of reading the script for the first time. In an interview she said she had the script delivered to her home in the uk and when she read it she was so upset by it she went out walking in the pouring rain for hours and hours just trying to take it in . Still excited to see my hero Jon back in action though !

Killer of men , women and children for no good reason . Poor lass must have been heartbroken to see her lovely character turn out like that .

A Elric-esque Jon show could make it really easy to just ignore parts of GoT. Kings landing isn't that important if the show is basically Jon cleaning out the 'Heart of the North/Valeria/Stygai' one monster at a time, Witcher style.

I like the idea of Nightking returning or introducing Nightqueen.. the walkers have absolutely returned before, so who’s to say they won’t again. And how. My preference would be for the time jump to be more significant than less. Explore the immortal zombie parallels to Cold-Hands but also Bloodraven. Maybe Jon can literally feel magic fading from the world as a being sustained by it. King Bran would be in a similar position as a parallel to Bloodraven. And could easily guest star in a show set almost entirely north of the wall, perhaps warging in Drogon. The concept of magic throughout the world being tied to the presence of dragons could be worth exploring. It’s the only sort of term-limit on Bran’s rule if you think about it. Maybe we can see Bran finally turn evil through this, becoming the new Nightking like we know he fears. It would start out innocently enough, with him planting weirwoods, gifting them to the great houses to strengthen his powers and keep a close eye on everyone. We know he’s searching for Drogon, but I imagine warging a dragon is as uncool as warging a human, at least from the dragon’s point of view. So maybe that’s his dark turn, they could even hide it from most of the audience under the veneer of Bran’s joy at flying as a dragon.

What about a Night's Queen or other unknown sorcerer who is trying to capture Jon Snow to turn him into the next Night's King? I'm picturing a scene with Jon tied to a werewood about to be turned and flashing back to his death at the hands of the Night's Watch.

Time-skip plus very far North makes a lot of sense. Winds of winter promised to go further North than before but the show never did. Maybe the Jon Snow Show is a way of exploring North for GRRM?

A GREAT STORY BASIS FOR THE JON SNOW SHOW! In the beginning of the story, everyone is doing their own thing in Westeros: Arya is doing her thing. Sansa is doing her thing. Jon is doing his thing, and suddenly King Bran is assassinated/ or disappears! And everyone is shaken out of their comfy life and are called back to action in order to find out what happened to him! 1. Was he killed Was it the faceless men, Arya could investigate in Essos. Jon could traverse beyond the wall to find three eyed raven clues. 2. Or was he kidnapped 3. Did he leave on his own - to where and why? And who would be powerful enough to do either point 1 or 2 to the three eyed raven? And so a mystery can ensue. This mystery could rope in more weirwood lore, children of the forest lore, nightfort lore, white walker lore (about their origin). And could also introduce some Great Empire of the Dawn/Asshai lore. Bran could turn up alive, and become a villain (maybe due to the three eyed raven taking over control over him. Or turn up dead, and those forces who killed him are big bads for the endgame of the show This show could be a massive, sprawling show that has the potential to be a worthy show based on ASOIAF!

Not sure if anyone has brought this up - but at least in HBO Westeros, Jon is the last blood of the dragon I think? Maybe his zombie dong is a threat to some who want the Targs gone for good? Some group could want to hunt down the exiled prince? In any case I’m hoping we get some compelling dialogue if this show eventuates!

My guess is a major time jump into the future. The heart of winter is spawning new white walker bad guys. Jon has to convince the nights watch that he’s in fact Jon snow, an undead, ex lord commander, oathbreaker. Which will likely involve a good bit of political stuff.

I would like Jon’s relationship with the wildlings exposed. By the end of the show he seems to be the king Beyond the Wall in all but name and we never got to see their reaction to Jon being resurrected and what that did to their perception of him.

10 years after The second Long Night. People are coming back from the dead again with their eyes turned icy blue. But how? The Others are gone! Tormund mentions something about a female Other once spotted by his great great grandfather. Jon, Tormund and Ghost goes north to uncover the truth, (and Val too hopefully.) Their journey to the Land of Always Winter. It was the Night Queen. She's recruiting her own army. "Fine.. I'll do it myself." moment. Val is captured. Jon tries to rescue Val. And also to prevent the march. Longclaw is lit of fire. Jon kills Night Queen. Just as we think he is succeeding.... Jon is stabbed. It was Val. Her eyes were blue, bluer than before. The show ends with Jon staring at the camera. (Similar to his true identity reveal scene) He's at the wall. Looking down south. His eyes cold blue. His haid white. His skin frozen ice. Val is by his one side, and Ghost the other, his eyes were also blue. Jon Snow is the new Night King and Val his Queen. Credit scene........ DAENERYS TARGARYEN GETS RESURRECTED!!

I think they did a shit job at building up Jon and Danys relationship. I personally was never really sold on them as a couple and it had trauma bond vibes at best. I hope the new show retrospectively fleshes out the feelings they shared on top of how he works through the shame of woman/kin/queen/lover slaying. I have no idea what the plot would be about but I'm honestly excited for some never before seen material cleared by George. I'm perhaps naively eager to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope they find a way to artistically clean up the ending of Game of Thrones, I don't mind a wee bit of tactful retconning. It warms my heart that Kit Harington himself is passionate about this and I sure hope Maisie comes back since she said she'd be down. And there's my thoughts.

Thinking about it some more, what if Jon realizes that killing the Night King wasn't the definitive answer, and he journeys to the Heart of Winter to fix the issue once and for all? He could encounter many Witcher-style monsters on the way, you don't need a large cast (the lands are sparsely populated), you can have a Jaskier-esque sidekick (Tormund), and most importantly you can tie it to the book ending, where we suspect that Jon and Dany need to go on a similar quest.

I can't say I'm thrilled about this show, there is definitely so much other content in the world of ice and fire that would make a better show concept. I'm not really on board with this one but we'll see where they take it. I guess it would be interesting to see them explore the children of the forest in more depth and perhaps use some actual child actors this time so that they are more accurate to the size of the book children of the forest. I don't know, we'll see if the show actually comes to fruition but I'm skeptical.

Whole heartedly agree with you about not having Danny in the show. If they dig into anyone that’s not north of the wall that was in GOT it’ll just be season 9. Would love to see a single scene with Danny in a weirwood dream. Kinda like how Grace in Peaky blinders appeared to Tommy a few times.

They have a lot of prove, so I suspect they will give it their all. That’s a lot at stake. So although I dont care for Snow, I will watch and see how this unfolds.
