My husband had the same issue with trials here in So Cal during Covid. There’s nothing to stop an expert witness from watching the proceedings on their computer and tailoring their testimony accordingly. The courts never figured out a solution to this problem and it’s definitely a issue that needs to be addressed. Some people can be trusted to be ethical and follow the rules. Some……not so much.

I have the same problem and it started when I got monovision as a kid. Monovision is when you have your glasses set so you see distance out of one eye and close up out of the other. had mine set that way because I didn't want to wear bifocals as an 8-year-old.

I'm sure all of us are curious Mike.... did the Caterer use that Event Center location to cater the wedding (june 11th) that Judge Middleton attended. They very next day on the 12th was when they were charged. Maybe the Catering for the 12th ( at that Center location) was a one time thing because they had two events back -to-back and needed more space? We need an Update with details. BTW-Saw Team Skeptic cover a Judge Simpson's case which was VERY interesting and FUNNY! Elderly AA woman in Court on charge and Judge refers to case in question ( She had 2 cases.. Judge was covering the first early date only ) Defendant blurts out... "Was that the one where I had the crack pipe ? I'm sure the Prosecutor had a WTF moment right there. As they warn people... "Anything you say CAN and WILL be used against you "

was a texas cps case. one party was sequestered, on zoom. broadcasted on youtube. got to a point witness saying yes, person was with other person. his social media posts show pictures of two together. have a court person interrupt, saying witness listening in, as social media pictures all disappearing. closed courtroom to proceed. (and cps already had screenshots at that point)

Even if you were losing, Judge Middleton isn’t a judge you trade off for someone else. To me, he seems the most laid back and as fair as can be. But honestly, it would be hard to choose between Judges Manning, Simpson, Middleton, and Webster in Kansas.

This is a whole can o’ worms that involves the House of Nuts (really) which is a condemned building. However at the last minute ownership of this building was transferred to a charity to save it from destruction because it is a historic structure. You can imagine not many of these survive in St Joseph County. The Village of White Pigeon is just worried that without someone else assuming liability, people go in there & die when the whole place goes up in flames. Then they get sued for money that they don’t have.

This building has had a number of hearings this year regarding the safety issues. City wants to tear it down. Owners are trying to save it from being destroyed. Lots of different issues in this case one of Middleton's headaches.

Another reason why proceedings should not be simultaneously broadcast to the world. Conducting it on KZbin necessarily means losing control of the courtroom.

They have the option of delaying the broadcast. Some of the judges do that here to assure sequestration-- the record the proceedings but delay the broadcast until after it's over.

Putting them in breakout or conference rooms so they can't hear the testimony of others is a good solution on the fly like that. Great way to think on your toes Judge Middleton. They all know what sequester means so he knew what the intent was of being put in the conference room. He should be held in contempt.

If the Honorable Judge Middleton had to recuse himself every time he knew one of the parties (if not ALL of the parties) he’d never be able to judge a case in that county. The attorneys should have investigated what the exact relationship is between webster and the judge and his wife, just to ask him to state what the nature of their relationship is. For example do webster and the wife socialise together or is it casual? Has the judge ever put business websters way? You dont have to be accusatory but having it fully out in the open would be helpful.
