Watching this vlog and having seen your more recent vlogs Mariano I must say you've matured quite rapidly as a poker player. Your ability to shrug of variance now is remarkable. Even when you're discussing hands these days, you don't ever seem frustrated at how other people play their hands, just if you may have made a mistake that allowed them to beat you, or not. I hope to get to that point very soon as well. I need to stop living on tilt!

Mariano I love the vlogs man. Hay a little thing I picked up that might help you. I can point you too my source if you need. Basically if a player calls with a pair on the flop 80 percent of the time they will not fold on later streets. So basically all you really fold on later streets is draws. Some interesting info that has helped me improve my win rate a decent amount.

You didn't mention the 5/5 NLH at the Commerce is $500 max buy-in. Still a bit shallow but that's much better than $200 max for the 2/5 game that you played, and the waiting was pretty quick for the 5 days I played there. There's really no fold equity when you play with max buy-in of just 40 BBs. That sucks.

Were you buying in the minimum bro?? I just hate that structure cause when I go into a 3-5 or 5-10 at my casino, most casinos let you buy in to the guy who has the most cash on the table but not at this casino. Max buy in is only 1000 and 5-10 if the dealer and players so it's good, it'll be uncapped
@spencrob5 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a bingo game, not a poker game. My local casino has a 1/2 game, 500 max buy in, but you can buy in for the biggest stack at the table. Problem is they only run 1 table during the weekdays and if you don't get there early you have to wait ages for a seat. But it's great to be able to get really deep in such a soft game.
@connorcostigan82045 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear about the bad run!! I had a question regarding how you start a poker bankroll. How much should you put aside if you wanna start playing 1/2 NL? Not professionally or anything but more recreationally. Thanks!
@theejayzeeable5 жыл бұрын
While he chimes in, playing recreationally means you just play for fun. You don't need a bankroll for that. Just use your "fun money". If you're looking at playing part-time seriously with a goal of adding on to a bankroll through poker, then about 20 buy-ins or about 4k gives you some starting cushion to be able to withstand an early downswing and still continue playing, IF you're a solid player. If you have leaks in your game, even a big starting bankroll isn't big enough.

I really enjoy the reasoning behind every action you take. It helped me almost right away with understanding how much work there is ahead of me. Super-interesting. You were most certainty right it was the stakes, calling your shove with aces on that wet board. Wasn't an obvious call unless you are somewhat fixated on your hand. Nice play, that was unlucky.
