“Don’t you believe she should pay for all your tears..?” That is one of the most heart breaking and conflicting lines in Luna’s heart, you can tell how powerful and meaningful it is as she holds back tears from memories. Yet she still stood up for her sister and protected her. It’s personally one of my favorite lines which best relates to me in a deeper way.

I especially like her response “This is not a game, Astelle, I know how this will end. Vengeance cannot bring your heart to peace.” She doesn’t deny what Astelle said, just that revenge isn’t going to help. She’s clearly still hurt over the whole ordeal. Even though she admits later in the song that it was her own fault that she got banished to the moon, it would be hard to let a thousand years of isolation and torment go, even if it was the “right option. It adds emotional complexity to Luna and I’m here for it.

There is something mesmerizing about the way this song is done. It starts with Astelle, where in the original song this would be the place of Dr Jekyll. When Luna takes her turn it's in the place of Mr Hyde's opening lines. As the song progresses the places for the singers switch over. I think I've found the slot where they did the transition and it amazes me how seamlessly it was pulled off.

Has anyone ever thought that Astelle is a siren? Maybe over time she became one? Or her past life she was one? Maybe she is a pony who takes over others, for her evil doings, maybe a different kind of pony siren. I can see that happening. Maybe, Starswirl, was just doing a good thing instead. Maybe he was protecting Equestria form an evil doer, and make her into a good pony? She did say in a song that she was being controlled? Maybe he was getting carried away? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS! :D So, here would be the story, Astelle long ago, she was the element of Darkness for keeping everything dark out and she didn't want to be that kind of princess, she wanted more power over time since Luna had more power, and could do the magic Astelle could, so she was unless, she decided to use a spell to turn into a siren and get power by using ponies magic. ( Which turned her into an alicorn, since she didn't do a REAL good thing for Equestria, so she wasn't an alicorn yet ), she then was taking over Equestria with her power. StarSwirl promised her power, so she stopped. Starswirl couldn't REALLY give her power, so she turned him to stone, and Celestia fought against her and banished her, but She came back as a siren.. BUT IT'S JUST A THEORY! XD! I probably won't get noticed.. Magpiepony is amazing..
