Confrontation - Jekyll & Hyde

I perform my interpretation of the song "Confrontation" from the musical Jekyll & Hyde. This performance was at my high school's Drama Awards Night, organized by the school's Drama Club.
I have also posted a video response of a later performance of mine in which I have added more blocking to the song. Take a look and please tell me what you think!

You know...I've been watching a lot of performances of this song lately for research. This performance - this is the one I keep coming back to. I've seen your blocked one, and that's incredible too...but there's a raw energy and a raw struggle to this one that I like. That bit where you're on hands and knees and pounding the floor...I LOVE that. I really feel like I'm watching two people in one body vying for control, which I feel is missing from many performances. Beautiful.

Incredible performance, possibly better than some of the stage actors themselves. I love the shift in not just posture and mannerisms, but vocal tics as well. It truly was like two different people singing. Also, I LOVE the fact that rather than using the wretched, hunched over pose for Hyde, you showed him as standing tall and proud as Jekyll sunk to the floor, showing that Hyde was growing stronger as Jekyll weakened. Truly marvelous!

Oh, wow. This is astounding! I can only imagine how radiant you must have been in real life if the video by itself depicts such splendor. First, I was stunned by your strong, steady voice, and yet again by the brilliant representation of the struggle between Jekyll and Hyde. I know my voice has an infinitesimal influence, however I do hope that you will continue in this line of work. Bravo!

Probally the best rendition of Confrentation on KZbin. You hit all the notes with passion, while transitioning into the each character flawlessly. Then to top it off it sounded like two different singers. Do know a good preformance of this sound you should be able to play audio only and for some one that doesnt know the song think it is two different people!

Dude, excellent job. I've been constantly practicing this song for a possible fuure audition, and it is insanely hard. Kudos, for not letting either your Jekyll or your Hyde fall beneath the other! Bravo!

Holy fucking Jesus. This. This right here. This is easily the best performence I've seen of this song yet. The absolute anguish in Jekyll's face, movements, and voice perfectly parries Hyde's insanity. I absolutely love this. "It's an emotional song about friendship!"

Oh, my gosh. This is the only one-person Confrontation I've ever seen that I liked. You're also the only High-schooler I've seen do it that I liked. I'm impressed. From one Thespian to another, bravo. :D

WOW!!!!!! Being a theater person myself, I am very impressed with your clear distinctions between Jekyll and Hyde. That -is- difficult to do especially in that song (my HS did it my Sr. year and are Jekyll had to work at it). Lovely voice too! You have talent.

As someone who has played this role professionally, it was rather terrible. You voice it too immature for this role and your acting skills are far from being up to par. This is a role for a more experienced actor/singer. You completely missed the point of the nuances of this piece and sang with like a bad melodrama. When you stare at the floor no one can see your face. For now you should stick to roles for someone of your age and limited experience.

I actually agree with everything you said! That said, I see no reason why we should gate keep performances from people who want to learn and improve ✌️
