I donot understand why do white people fall so easily for these ruthless criminals and beggars. I am from Kolkata, and just from the first glances of this "Monu" I could tell he is a fraudster. Yeah, may be I am judgemental, but we have to judge people head to toe everyday, to stay safe. This Monu has a scammer vibe about him, that bleached hair, full sleeve t-shirt...this dressing sense alone says he is from a shabby background(yes, we have to judge this way, sorry but this is a reality here). Just ask any Indian how does he feel about this person from first glance. It would be an honour for me to punch this despicable kid and instill some values in him. A slap or two will fix him...and I am sure, that's the only way.

I would have done the same thing and I truly admire you guys for giving Monu another chance. Putting the ball in his court, giving him the opportunity to redeem himself is such an honourable deed on your part. I hope he realizes how blessed he is for having people like you guys in his life. I like what they do an their hearts in the right place an i like art but the other 2 should stay at home for sure they bring nothing to the table when out an about doing a confrontation but they have other skills maybe such as tech skills uno i basically think they should get training or get other people to do the confronting while they focus on the tech but art should still do confrontation cos hes good lol an he wasnt about to be a soft fanny until ash started hugging him an licking his arse 🙄

Speaking as an Indian, be very careful when dealing with indians below 30, boys and girls alike. Everyone here ends up being very experienced with emotional manipulation. Actions like crying and hugging should not be taken on face value, no matter how genuine it seems. It's almost always done as an opening move to relieve tension and change any anger to sympathy/pity. The only gesture that you can trust is genuine, when the person is feeling real guilt or atleast shame and fear, is when the person shuts up, moves to a corner, holds their hands together, and look down to hide their face. (You've seen this on the Indian money mules you've confronted in front of their homes). Obviously I'm not saying all of us Indians are liars or such, it's not true, but when you're dealing with scammers, these people are not the moral Indians you're dealing with anymore, it's the scum who have very predictable behaviour. btw, Jaani's english is improving, he could do some legit hindi/english translation work.

@@triptic6144 They did say that out of 10 scammers that have reformed, only monu betrayed them. Belittle and demean him These are things they DID do: - Told him what he did wrong, how it affected them, and they expressed their frustration with him - Explained that their trust was broken, and emphasized that it would need to be earned over the course of the next coming months - Set boundaries and expectations for the future - Explained to him that they know he's a good person and that he is capable of change - They left with everyone feeling motivated to see him hold himself accountable This was brilliant- A BRILLIANT demonstration of communication, mercy and tough love and intervention. Everything was talked about and put on the table. Everyone was civil and left understanding exactly what was either expected of themselves or exactly what they should expect from the other person involved. I am so so so proud of this. I’m very split on this. On one hand, Monu had been doing this for a whole year, despite MANY requests for him to stop, and it took him getting caught and confronted to make him stop. But on the other hand, as was pointed out, he’s a very young man who grew up in poverty. He has a lot to learn about right and wrong, and the value of trust. And since he grew up in poverty, he probably grew up on the “get money any way you can” mindset. Trilogy Media (and by extension, the squad) were probably the first people ever to show him generosity and help him, and he ended up taking advantage of it, without realizing how wrong it is. But there is one thing I do believe. I think it was a little too nice to buy him a topi (please tell me if I spelled that right) this early. You had just confronted him, and told him how he had no right to do what he did, and then get him set up with a business. That’s way too early. Let me throw a hypothetical at you. A child has been misbehaving like crazy for the past year; acting up every chance he could, never doing his homework, and maybe getting into fights. Despite telling him to stop many times, he keeps doing it. Then you finally have a confrontation with him, and give him a reality check. He realizes that the way he’s been acting was wrong, and he feels sorry (giving him the benefit of the doubt). Do you say, “good boy, now how about we go to Chuck E. Cheese?” No, you wait a while, giving him time to prove that he means it, and gain your trust back. THEN you take him to Chuck E. Cheese, as a reward for turning himself around. Am I saying Monu is a bad person? No. Am I saying he’s beyond redemption? No. I’m just saying you jumped the gun a bit by buying him a business this early. It feels like you’re rewarding him for his bad behavior. You should have given him a few months, to prove that he’s not just telling you what you want to hear; then offer to help him. I apologize for how long this was. Thank for reading it all the way through

You can´t compare this to a child misbehaving. We´re all over here in the so called rich west. Unless you yourself are in a position where you have absolutely nothing to loose, then you basically have no right judging someone who´s in that situation. It's a very thin line between having it 'all' and having absolutely nothing. So why the need to punish him any further? Does anyone think that would do any good? They told him that what he's done hurt them, was wrong. I do believe his tears were real. I also believe those tears ran much deeper than just this. And above it all I hope he makes his dreams come true, cause in the end that's what will make him want to be better, do better, and be the person he was meant to be.

You are absolutely right. I am surprised how naive could one get. Triology Media, I suppose was here to catch scammers and it was also doing quite well in that. But by getting scammed itself the team has come across to be no smarter than those poor nannies who get easily duped by the scammers. And think of it, they get swindeled the 2nd time. Haven't they heard, once a lier always a lier. Triology Media needs to do some self learning and training on human/criminal psychology. I am sure the channel will not come up with a sequal of Monu's story. That guy will never change. Don't we know people who can laugh and then break down into sobs with little time lapse between the two extreme emotional displays.

I think that’s part of what the problem was. People who have the least on this channel or in general have the biggest hearts and think about others. This guy was continuing to lie. He said he didnt speak English but clearly he could speak perfectly. I think it seemed natural to screw over people. I hate saying that but it just seemed like he was only saying what got him out of his situation. I would be willing to bet that if you guys asked for receipts or said we need to speak to his dad, you would find out that there were more lies. Turning the feelings of hate, sadness, disappointment.... into something potentially wonderful. I totally understand this kids issues. When people feel they have nowhere else to turn, nowhere to go, when they feel like they've tried everything and all they keep getting is the door slammed in their face - it's hard. It's hard to see a positive in anything, especially when you have the pressure of feeding 12 other people too. It was totally not right to do what he did, and yes, utterly disgusting. But you guys are definitely the bigger people giving him a chance to earn that respect back. And now he's been given the opportunity with his little cart to prove he is what you believe he can be. I donated to him during a stream and I remember after I was getting messages from Monu tons of links for his PayPal and making sob stories I even blocked him on every social media because I was tired of seeing links almost everyday but seeing this confrontation and this video gave me hope that he realized what he did was wrong and he will turn his life around he is young like me we make dumb decisions, shit, I made dumb decisions I’m not proud of but it’s how we choose to learn from those decisions that matters and I’m hopping he chooses to realize what he did was wrong and grow from it, he’s got this he is a bright young kid i wish nothing for the best for him

This talk will definitely be a wake-up call to him. I hope he realizes how he needs to take the initiative on things he wants to do. I know someone who lives in Kolkata that would be a prime target for scam call center recruiters. Instead, he is choosing to utilize his skills to tutor students all over the world in math, english, and all sorts of subjects. His source of income is from a job where he is helping people and is also able to live a comfortable life. I hope Monu looks into his abilities and skills and utilizes that for the greater good rather than scamming. And if he doesn't have any skills, he should take the initiative to form some.

I have very mixed feelings about this. Did I do stupid shit at the age of 21? Absolutely! Did my family and friends forgive me more times then they should have? Yep! My family and friends were more than patient with me, however I am still a big preacher of these two phrases: "Actions speak louder than words" and "Past behavior dictates future behavior" nowadays. While I was unaware of Monu's actions over the past year and was curious to see what had become of him, I am severely disappointed to see this. Monu has a long and hard hill to climb and he may never gain your full trust back IF he is actually honest in his apologies. I can see a lot of my 21 year old self in him, not the scamming or the dance moves (man I wish I had a percentage of those moves at that age), so it would make me a hypocrite to condemn him. All I can do is wish him the best of luck with his business and that long hard climb to redemption.

He speaks good English when he is scamming people. But now he is acting to be not able to speak English. No doubt his tears are of fear that he is exposed and not of any guilt.

I generally avoid to comment on any of the video But this video is really heart touching and shows how calm and good people still exist in this world . As Indian I really appreciate what you have done with Monu. Meanwhile, This also shows how our country's unemployment is increasing day by day which leads youngster to indulge the job like scammer and if you have to eliminate these kind of jobs we have understand the root cause of this and according to my pov Indian Government is responsible for this .. So I just wanna add that in order to create greater impact you have to talk to our government and draw some conclusions to eliminate all these scammer
