Sorry I had to dislike the video because the voices/sound is so low I had to literally MAX my tv volume to hear and turn on captions. Later I got blasted with ad music and I fear I have a hearing loss now 😢You should edit the video sound to be a normal level if you want to create content on youtube. I love your videos tho, but there is always problems with sound editing

@@izelborucu1636came here to say the same thing! My phone volume is maxed and i cannot hear their voices at all, then she come close to the camera and gets extremely loud and i constantly have to adjust the volume. Making this video unwatchable. Edited: I've now tried to watch with headphones too. Same problem. This is every video.

Yay! I wasn't sure how it would be received to have a series that didn't declutter a ton, but I thought it was still important to show how unique all our declutter journeys can be. And how much change you can make with light decluttering and thoughtful organization.

@@SpaceMakerMethodyou're the space maker. And you made a lot of space in Laura's and Jasper's home. For me it's fine. I really enjoy a normal european Home. It's so relatable as a German. Also it is so relatable to need just a little Body doubling instead of a whole lot of help. I enjoy both kinds of space making. I'm a huge fan of Tracy and her series (and Dani and Christine and her husband and and and). I love the heavier help as much as the lighter one. Both works with your method, so please show both.

Yeah, plus it really helps if there is someone to ask if something works, and to push you to think about whether you use something, or whether something should maybe be in a different spot etc. And I'm sure the body doubling helps as well.

I'm from the Netherlands and new homes never have a basement, sometimes a little attic or the attic is just another layer with bedrooms. I visit a lot of homes for my work, but a lot of new homes have no build in closets (sometimes one underneath the stairs that often has the door in the living room). That makes Ikea really needed here😂 Older homes often have a small basement where people used to have food storage and hang meat to dry. But new homes are build as space effective as possible to fit as many bedrooms as possible, but that means there's no build in storage space like attics and basements.

As a fellow Dutchie this series is so relatable, great fun to watch!!😄 My boyfriend and I live in a big-ish city in the Netherlands and our kitchen is 3x as small as Laura's and Jaspers' (we cant be in there at the same time because it's so narrow) so the organizing of specifically a Dutch kitchen is very motivating to get started on our own decluttering. Thank you Laura and Jasper for giving us a peek in your life. Groetjes uit Nijmegen!

Great couple! Great storage. They had helpers unpacking who didn’t do such a horrible job but as she said…they didn’t have ownership over the set up. And doing the math…when they moved in the baby was tinier and she is breastfeeding. All said, they are a lovely couple. Like Colin, Jasper is a modern husband. They just don’t take care of their stuff…they participate in the whole household not just “help” like they are doing the wife a favor. I hope this is more the norm.

Good Job! I have to say one thing that you do, April, that drives me nuts is storing glasses and cups right side up. All my life I have stored them upside down so that things (dust or whatever) don't drop into the cups and are ready to use. Display cups of course upright, but seldom used and must be washed before use. I guess to each their own, but would like your thoughts. Enjoy watching this Dutch Series as I am half Dutch. I am curious to see how we are the same different in storage needs. Their dining area looks so sunny, I know you only had it closed for the filming result. If I know my Dutchies they would have been sitting there with the sun fully streaming in. The Dutch historically live in smaller spaces and are pretty efficient, so I am not surprised at a small clutter pile, plus they recently moved into new kitchen, so they purged some. I am interested in how the dining room is gonna go and what that baking area is now looking like.

The “basement” area is very unusual and challenging. I would use it for things I don’t use often. I did wonder if a pullout shelving unit would make it more functional, hard to tell from viewing it on film vs in person and you would lose significant storage if you did something like that.

As a fellow Dutchie I really love seeing a house on this channel that is more similar to the ones I grew up in. Can't wait for the rest of this series!

It was a generic one in the shape of a cat, not a real scrub daddy

No it's a real one as I have the same one, and it's scrub daddy! I was assuming she didn't know as she still hasn't been back in the US for super long

That “basement” is really more what we would call a “cold cellar”.

I really like when you do series in other countries besides the US. Very interesting to see the people’s homes. I thought that little “basement “ was kinda creepy, for some reason. I enjoyed that Jasper participated fully & how great all of you worked together.

We call 'the basement' a staircloset, trapkast. Our trapkast was always full with shoes and boardgames :)

I really like that you show different types of homes and different preferences on how much one likes to own and people that are in different stages of their lifes. I took ideas and inspiration from all of these - even if they are very different from one another. I also like your subtle way of helping the person your working with to figure out a way that works for them in their home. It's not like the loud "You have to do it this way. And you need those containers....." 😅 Thanks for your encouragment. Really enjoy your content.

What a great video! I really enjoy seeing couples working together too get their place organized. One thing to consider, is that the hand sanitizer should probably not be down where the kiddos can get a hold of it.

That midcentury wall unit is awesome, and i love the colors/design of the kitchen. Once it's all organized, Laura and Jasper's great taste will be in full focus.
