Before shopping anywhere - always check the Impressum / About Us section. Only buy if you see the correct legal information - a company address and tax registry number. If you only see random, irrelevant gibberish and only some suspicious telephone number or e-mail (in many cases not even that) - you know it's a scam.

This. Or just shop in trusted shops that are well known. Not a bad idea to check that the VAT number is actually legit if you suspect anything.
@FreekDijkstra19 сағат бұрын
Best to check some reviews, this will quickly get an idea if something is going on. Alternatively, if you find an address, use Google Street view to check if there is indeed a physical office or warehouse there, or that is a fake address. And yes, I've fallen for dropshippers too. So far they delivered, but sometimes after 2-3 months. 6 months is clearly fake. If you don't want to go to the process of making a legal complaint, do make sure to dispute the payment with your bank provider. If you used a credit card, you have a good chance to get a refund. For a bank less likely. If you paid by some online bank, like Paypal, never mind. You lost your money in that case.

Since the “young millionaires” on YT have started boasting about how easy it is to make money using drop shipping, many such scammy websites have emerged. They think they are hustling. Even many Etsy shops simply show their shop addresses in Europe, but drop-ship items from Temu/Alibaba. I have stopped using Etsy for this reason and it hurts real small businesses.
@dennisd95544 сағат бұрын
I don't use Etsy much, but I was looking for stained glass the other day (just curious because I make stained glass and thinking of selling some on Etsy) and was floored by how much absolute CR@P came up for sale. Stuff that wasn't stained glass but just mass-produced plastic junk. There were listings that were legitimate and you could tell from the pics they were unique pieces for sale. You could usually spot them by the price (~$300 USD) and lots of pics from different angles. But I'd also worry that at that price it would attract scammers that just steal images and pretend to sell stuff and never deliver, like this video.

Idk if this is something else. But there are a lot of sites where the original site had a good traction and ranked high on google. The Site goes offline, the domain is open again and scammers buy these domains with high ranking and keep the legal information the same (they use wayback machine to get the info) and scam there. The original holders then dont know anything abt this. These scams are really popular rn and honestly i think the same group of people that run these are behind the ddos attacks on the wayback machine because this is an easy verify to that. I ordered an aquarium light power supply to replace a faulty one through Ebay. It didn't arrive by the stated date so I contacted the seller. The reply was that they had been sick so they would send two instead as a good will gesture. In the post tomorrow, delivery in a few days. After a few days I contacted Ebay, showed them the correspondence and got a refund. These people try to drag things out until the time limit for making a complaint has passed then say you were too late complaining. Keep your eye on that date if something does not turn up when expected.
@stormstereo19 сағат бұрын
In the EU, the 14-day clock starts ticking from the day you receive your order, not from when you place it online. Sellers on Ebay are required to follow EU consumer protection laws if they make products available to EU consumers and ship to buyers residing in the EU. Any seller or website can of course still be a pain to deal with, like in your case.

A guy wouldn't send me a box of videogames and kept shipping out a box and returning it back to his address. So after going back and forth with the guy for 3 weeks and a half asking why the package is not arriving almost a month late I decided to make a complaint with ebay. After some time I got my money refunded. Make sure to check the seller's reviews before buying from anyone.
@dennisd95544 сағат бұрын
@@devinhigoy221 Agreed. I always scrutinized the seller reviews on eBay before bidding on or buying anything. As a seller, you can also put limits on anyone bidding on your stuff if they don't have enough positive reviews. That weeds out bogus or flaky buyers.

If she paid by credit card, she might want to get that blocked just in case. If it's truly some legal grey area, they probably won't stoop that low, since they're technically legal and want to stay that way, but I wouldn't rule it out. There's a different online shop scam where scammers buy domains that used to belong to shops that went out of business, pretend they are still owned by the old owner, and give them a phishing frontend copied from some large name brand store, with discount prices. If you buy from them, you will never get your product, and whatever you paid with is probably compromised. Though at least that's clearly not quite what happened here since any of the former owners of those sites would be instantly working with you to get rid of the scam site instead of whatever this guy was doing.

1:35 Janek, you should check PPPeter from Slovakia, his series from China. He showed these "shopping galleries" in China. You simply order big amount of any product and they will create it in China and deliver to your destination in next months. So you can buy stuff worth 2€ of production and sell it for 20€ for example, but u must meet certain conditions such as minimum amount of products per order. Yes, these products are from China and that's how it works. It seems, this backpack wasn't in storage and they had to make a new order and yes, it can take up to a year to get your goods. Imagine how much of those "souvenirs" in Prague you see on every corner are from China worth 0.50€ of production, that are sold to tourists for a few €. This is business :D @edit: It's not dropshipping, it's similar, but it's something else.
