It's funny in the home construction business you obviously get a variety of clients but usually they are either absolutely awesome. Tip the workers extra, have a beer with you, Cook you food. Just a blast to work for. Then you get the complete opposite. Counting every nail you put in. Standing over your shoulder the entire time. Absolute nightmare. Always trying to take money off for some BS. My favorite is you big a job. Bang it out, it's perfect. No mistakes, looks mint. But you did it soo quick and efficiently they don't wanna pay you the quoted price because you make it look to easy. But good forbid you under bid cause you ran into problem after problem they get alligator arms for any extras.

If the company had a combi-lift the wheels rotate 90 degrees so it can drive sideways and they could've driven sideways down the yard instead of it looking like an airplane, they did what they could with the equipment they have. Lookup a video of the combi-lift material handling equipment, they're very useful in tighter spaces. This guy reminds me of my mom. I just remodeled 2 bathrooms for her, and she's not all there like this old guy. It was extremely frustrating dealing with her memory loss and just generally not understanding how things actually work. She was constantly pissed off that I hadn't tiled the floor from day 1, when I hadn't even painted yet and planned to use a paint sprayer. It's always the best practice to work from the top down so you don't ruin the flooring regardless of what type it is, but every day we had the same argument until it was time to finally tile. Keep in mind, I own my own business in Indiana and took time off from my clients to go to CT for 2 weeks to do the work. I get why her contractor bailed on her, and I refuse to do the master bathroom. I've always heard, "never work for family". It's true, every time I've gotten burned, this was the last. LMAO (I say that now). Great job dealing with the old guy, it's never easy. Love the channel, keep up the great content.

I drive a forklift in a factory and you would not believe how people want to stand right up next to you, feet or even inches away while you are lifting a heavy load into a tight spot. Tell them to back up and they get mad. Hit them and i lose my license, regardless if it is my fault or not.

Here is the deal. That is a old Framer or carpenter. Back in the day the lumber truck had a tilt bed. The truck would drive over the spot where the lumber wanted to be placed. Driver would remove all hold down straps. Then the driver would get back in the truck and start tilting the bed the lumber was sitting on. At the point the lumber starts to slide off the driver pops the clutch as he excellerates forward the lumber slides off and lands on the ground right on the spot intended. Now they remove the lumber from the truck with a forklift and set it down. I believe the customer was expecting the old was . When he realized they were using a fork lift he became confused.

My mom lived in a rich folks trailer park for a while and a few units were aging. My mom met a man and got married all within like a year span. Her new husband wanted to do handyman work around the park just to be helpful. Someone paid us to tear down and rebuild their deck. What they didn't understand was the park-model trailers are not legitimate, solidly built homes so we ended up having to level their trailer. We found out while underneath that it was actually two put together for a double wide. But from outside it didn't look like it. By the time we were done we had over 10,000 in materials and tools and hadn't even paid for labor yet. Those people tried to underpay. Then their neighbor wanted her shower torn out and rebuilt using some stupid German shower system... foam and tape. But again. Park model trailers. The wall was thin aluminum siding, 1x2 "beams" and a plastic shower surround. The lady couldn't understand why there was no structure behind the wall! So we had to build the wall out with real framing and move the drain and move the shower head and and and... she ended up trying to sue us in the end because "this costs so much omg it only cost my someone down the street 5k like 10 years ago..." you mean back when wood was cheap? Sorry lady. Times have changed. We have receipts for every single thing used. Oh and she made me cut 280 12x12 tiles into 10x10 tiles. Yes. I spent an entire day on that. Then the park got mad that the tile-dust-water was in the road so I had to pressure washer the road. I could go on but I'm already making myself cranky. I grow pot now. Screw customers, they can build it themselves.
