When I started out, what confused me most were the variances between PPA and USA Pickleball rules... let, volley serve...

How long do you have for your momentum to count in the kitchen after a hit? After the next person hits the ball?

I have a question. For doubles, Lets say we are playing for a point, and lets say its a 13 shot rally before the point ends. And th whole time we were doing the 13 shot rally. My partner is inside the kitchen the whole time. Is he at fault or is it completely legal? Thanks and hoping to get some insight.

Assume you have 1 foot in the kitchen - the ball now bounces in the kitchen - is it legal to volley the ball ? Or does the player need to establish both feet outside the kitchen - then step into the kitchen and volley the ball after it bounces ?

from that i can tell , pickleball and it's ruled are designed to keep aggressive, competitive play in check and reduce the barrier to entry. It's fun, but a little annoying, especially if you good at serving from one side.

It would be good to have more details on kitchen faults. What if you push off from in the kitchen when running back to hit a lobbed ball? What if you fall forward into the kitchen after a volley but also after the opponent hits a return? In both cases I'm assuming there is a point in time identified by something (opponent hitting the ball, or ball crossing the net-line on a lob?) which determines if it's a kitchen fault or not?

How do you know who is server 1 and 2 and where they are on their side, the first server of the game is the #2 server after? Or hes still the 1st one on his team?

Need help with the return after the serve. This has been an ongoing argument between our family. If I serve, clear the kitchen, does the return hit have to clear the kitchen also or can it land in the kitchen (such as a bad return hit)?
@MyGtTube5 ай бұрын
The return after serve can land anywhere in the serving team’s court.

Re: Loosing count during play, starting player on right side of court, their score should be an even number, shouldn’t count apply on receiving side,person who was 1st to receive, their score would be an even number if 1st receiver in right hand court?

Can you call a ball out right after you hit it?
@Titanium10875 ай бұрын
Since double hits are legal, can you “pass” the ball to your teammate? Or manage to hit the ball straight up and then go for a smash?
@thomaslum25 ай бұрын
Balls can be hit twice, but this must occur during a continuous, single-direction stroke by one player. If the stroke made while performing the serve or during a rally is not continuous, or not in a single direction, or the ball is struck by a second player, it is a fault.

When a player hits a dink but stays in the kitchen as the game continues, is it a point for the opponent or they only loose a serve?
@MichelleH455 ай бұрын
There is no fault if the player is in the kitchen by they don’t volley the ball. So they can stay there all day long if they want to, as long as they don’t volley (hit the ball out of the air). Of course, staying in the kitchen is stupid, but it is totally legal as long as they don’t volley the ball.

Can you pre spin a drop serve?
@EnhancePickleball5 ай бұрын
No, that also would make it spin off the bounce haha
@nunyabidness30755 ай бұрын
@@EnhancePickleball Oh, yeah it does, but one of our more advanced players does this, so I assumed it was legal since the rules for drop serves are often different than for volley serves.
@thomaslum25 ай бұрын
The ball can be dropped from any height but cannot be thrown, tossed, or otherwise released with any added force to bounce it. So a spin would be an added force.

We have a popular indoor pickle ball program at the local seniors centre. There is one player that makes a show out of somersaulting, diving and rolling full body on the wood floor to try and get a shot. Many of the other players think this is funny and even place bets on how many times this player will do this in a session. I find this to be distracting, and quite possibly dangerous. I can't find anything about this in the pickle ball rules. Is this permitted?

Most confusing rule is what is allowed for spin serves
@EnhancePickleball5 ай бұрын
I cover that in this video 9:37
@MichelleH455 ай бұрын
You can put any kind of spin you want on a serve as long as the spin is not “pre-spin” the ball with your hand. However, any spin you can put on the ball with the paddle only (like top-spin or slice) are totally legal. These spins are imparted by how you hit the ball with the paddle, not anything you do with the ball with your hand before you serve.
