Nicely done, congrats to everyone at Kershaw on this stellar 2023 lineup! Everybody seems to love this knife, so I hope y'all will consider giving us knife enthusiasts an option with upgraded steel (154CM or 14c please!) that's US-made! I'd pick one up in a heartbeat! 🔪

@@KnivesFAST do you know if they use omega springs on this knife? I've heard a lot of people having to replace them on other knives. Never had to replace any of mine. Just curious.

I snagged one of these soon as it dropped at my local dealer. I love darn near everything about it. Feels great in the hand, action is glassy-smooth (as Kerashaw likes to describe it), mine locks up solid as a rock. It's a great feeling knife in every regard! Love the color scheme with the anodized bronze color pop. Sensible without being flashy. D2 isn't ideal, but, it's better than 8cr! I'm good at keeping my knives clean so I'm not concerned about D2 staining/spotting. It's a tool steel, and this is a tool, so use it like one! 😄I'd have liked to see the jimping go clear to the back of the spine, but even that small amount is still useful. This is a win for us from Kershaw, but we gota keep letting them know we want to see some more premium options that are US-made. Seems like they're listening, keep on talking! Thanks for your thoughts KC, great stuff brotha! 👍🔪

I love everything about the Kershaw Iridium…..except the D2 blade. I stopped buying knives with D2 blades when I found them rusting in my knife collection storage box - having never been outdoors, never used, never washed. D2 just loves to rust. But I’ll make an exception and buy an Iridium and keep the blade oiled. Great review!

My Comments on the two Iridiums that I purchased. One was poorly made the other was not so bad. • This a is a thin medium size, light knife which feels very thin in the hand. I love the spear point blade tip. • Very disappointed about a lack of attention to detail. Kershaw didn’t bevel one of the long edges of the left handle scale as they did with all the other scale edges. As a result, it has a very sharp top edge remaining that is very uncomfortable. For some reason that top edge was missed during the beveling / de-burring process. • The DuraLock exhibits bad lock stick dragging when attempting to open the blade. Gets worse the more I use it. Purchased two of these knives and both copies exhibit the same problem. • Compounding the above lock sticking issue is the fact the release button is quite small and hard to contact and use. Also the DuraLock spring is quit stiff. This is a poor example of how to build a cross bar lock knife. • I like the contrasting bronze anodized accent color of the back spacer against the gray scales. • Blade can be opened using the DuraLock or ambi thumb studs. • Blade is 0.020” behind the cutting edge and was delivered ‘hair popping’ sharp. • I like the nested, Deep Carry pocket clip with Recessed screws. Works great.

Great breakdown. Mine definitely did not have some of the issues you're talking about. I will save the titanium one I got recently did have a little bit of stick but it worked out. I don't remember the hotspots you're talking about on the two that I had. So are you had so many issues. But it sounds like they're a bit hit and miss. Thanks

This is a great looking knife, if D2 is concerning I might wait until Kershaw [probably] offers it a different steel flavor because I imagine this will be enough of a banger that they’ll have other steels or coatings available.
@KnivesFAST Жыл бұрын
Hard to say but yeah they may do that. I mean as long as you keep it clean it should be good. But just not ideal. Thank you so much

This is Kershaw we’re talking about- if they come out with another variant, it’ll be two years AFTER they discontinue it and the only difference will be a change in the color of the pocket clip or something…

I bought this knife and I love it. This knife is plain handsome. The action is smooth, the blade is over 3", it has thumb studs and a bar/axis/Dura-lock. This is exactly what I want for an EDC. My only disappointment is the blade steel. I don't mind paying more for a knife with the above qualities but with a better blade steel. Can anybody recommend a more premium equivalent?

BEWARE: the axis lock works best when manipulated with both thumb and index finger.. The lock is not as effective with only one finger.
@KnivesFAST Жыл бұрын
I do that anyway. I think that applies to most axis style locks. Thanks.
@paulmccarter908 Жыл бұрын
@@KnivesFAST I'm sure you recognize the utility of a one fingered(or thumb) actuated axis lock; I can tell mine(Heist) is a bit gritty, and pulls back unevenly, one fingered. Maybe they all have that more or less, but one that worked like that would be a major selling point not many know before purchase. Thanks
