The fact that this song is easily missed/overlooked when you play the game, makes it that much more special. I still remember playing the game with a buddy and we both heard the beat and decided to stop moving, wait and listen, and were shocked at how awesome it became. To the point we downloaded it (likely thru Napster or something back then) and would crank it so loud as we drove around town. The bass would rattle the car (and us). Good times!

I didn't think much of it as a kid but the entire sequence starting at 3:06 is incredible. as an adult it shocks me to think that they could make the song sound so clear and accurate to club dance music of that era on a 64 cartridge. so incredibly memorable

I know as a freshman in HS I didn't like electronic music .....but this part of the game was so unique to me and real....this song slapped senses into me. Since then I've been to countless House ,trance,EDM ,Glow festivals .......thank you RARE

This song here, is my absolute favorite song from any video game. Nothing like standing on the center platform surrounded by rock people. Watching Conker and the Cavemen dance to this song lol.

He was a modern-day British virtuoso in every regard. In a prior century, he’d’ve been up there with the greats, like Vivaldi and Motzart. Seriously, the man has unprecedented talent in all forms of music, from Classical, Opera, Swing, to Electronica.

The original Conker is pure gold... one of the best games ever made. Pretty sure it got 10/10 for review back in the day. All I know is I sold my very dearly loved dreamcast and vga cable and monitor to buy another n64 to just play this amazing game back in 2000.

Conker's Bad Fur Day in general has one of the most under appreciated OSTs of all time; and song's like this deserve recognition. Though thankfully it was used in some popular Flash animations on Newgrounds such as Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom.

I feel like Beanland was given a mission to make "idk dude it's a club so generic techno" and he went "nah fam. It'll be generic techno in genre name only imma make a banger". It's one of the like ten first electronic tracks I heard and I've been a lifetime electronic fan since said ten.

It's no generic techno, its part Acid House, Part Deep House, and during the synth and hi-hat playtime starting from 3:09, a whole lot of trance. This one transcends genres, he overdelivered massively.

From what I’ve heard, the Spooky level was supposed to also have a ‘Blade’ homage with a dance club (sans anything caveman-themed) and Don Weazo (the Mafioso Boss Weasel) was supposed to head it. They had other homages set to the Uga Buga level, like Jurassic Park, etc. and it would’ve been relatively the same. So, it’s no coincidence this track sounds like “Blood Is Pumping” by Voodoo and Serrano, the club track heard in ‘Blade’.

Bass is a bit weak in this version :/ Sound quality is awesome. That first bass drop is ass compared to other videos with crap sound quality. The bass sounds good in other parts. But it does not have the oomph it should for the first drop. Legit a perfect upload aside from the weak bass st certain points.

Hm, CC34 determines the IIR Filter cutoff frequency using a pretty linear transfer function, as far as I can hear. But did you interpret CC33 which seems to influence the filter Q? Is it linear as well or is it on a dB range? And what's its maximum value when setting CC33=127 ?

I was writing some pseudocode to explain the decoding/use of the values, but then I thought it would be a lot easier to just point you toward the source code of the synthesizer I used to create these. github.com/L-Spiro/Nintendo-Synthy-4/tree/main/NS4/Src/MIDI Look at the LpfControlToFrequency() (cc34) and GameQToQ() (cc33) functions. The bi-quad implementation of the LPF is applied to each individual sample, not to the whole track, and it is tied to the sample’s base note. It is for this reason that the only way to properly render the music is to write your own synthesizer (which I call Nintendo Synthy-4). Any other synthesizer you use is going to apply effects to the whole track. For your easier browsing, here are a few useful variables. m_sSettings.dLpfOffset = 1.0 in Conker’s Bad Fur Day (10.0 in Jet Force Gemini). m_sSettings.dLpfScalar is just 1.0. _dBaseFrequency is 22018.

@@kotbayun2207 Unfortunately it temporarily is not the easiest tool in the world to use right now, since you have to change code in Visual Studio and build/run it to create a set. I plan to add an easy-to-use interface this year but for now you will need Visual Studio 2022 and have to change a bunch of paths to get it to convert.
