Check out another cool way to use non-corsair RGB on the Corsair CORE XT and Lighting node CORE.
You can adapt Corsair's 4 pin RGB fan connector to standard 3 pin ARGB, it works great with a little bit of setup.
You can make your own cable, or check out this pre-made adapter cable from airgoo using the following affiliate links, using them benefits the channel at no additional cost to you, a huge thank you if you choose to use them.
Airgoo 4 pin Molex to 3 pin ARGB - amzn.to/3PXymUz
You can Build your own cable, i've used this crimper and parts from digikey:

Thanks so much for this video! I bough one of these Corsair 4 pin to ARGB adapters on AliExpress and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. Turned out I needed to run that iCue lighting wizard. Also great that you provided the info about the number of LEDS in Corsair fans! Now everything is in sync in my PC, thanks again! :)

Hi TheSilverKnight, I completely agree. If Corsair would just open up their ecosystem a bit to other RGB devices and allow all us to customize it in the software, their respect level would skyrocket!!!

I'm new to RGB and I'm struggling to find information about whether my motherboard supports it or not as I think mine is a copy and not a genuine one as specs do not match what it shows on the internet. I do however have rrgb fans in my case but they use the old style mmolex connectors. Can anyone tell me what it I can actually do to be able to control the LEDs as it is extremely frustrating not having documentation for the motherboard and no one in my country seems to seel molex to three pin

Is it possible to do do this with Corsair Fans as well? If so would fan autodetection on icue work?
@HardwareArtisan
@HardwareArtisan Ай бұрын
Hi Lightning78821, most Corsair RGB fans have the 4 pin connector already so there is no need for this adapter cable, they just plug directly into the controller, it was designed for these fans specifically. In that case, yes it will autodetect corsair fans. If you use this adapter cable on non corsair fans, then you will need to manually specify a fan in the configuration that most closely resembles the number of LED's of the non corsair device you are connecting. If I've misunderstood your question, my apologies, I'm happy to help, let me know what devices you have that you want to connect to the CORE XT controller. Thanks for watching, good luck and have fun!!!

Great guide. I followed your guide using the commander core xt and hooked up two sets "daisy chained" 140 sawfan ex. I was hoping the fans (which are plugged into port 4 and 5) would all run the same color but no matter what corsair fan I choose in iCUE it only lights the first, first and second, but never the third fan. Any thoughts?
@HardwareArtisan
@HardwareArtisan 6 ай бұрын
Hi marcusvd, the limitation on using this method is that you can only set this port to a single fan in iCUE, this limits the number of LED's iCUE will address on a single port to whatever the number of LED"s that the selected fan has. I think the QL fan has the most LED out of that list (if memory serves) at 34 LED's, meaning the port will address only 34 LED's. The SWAFAN has 30 LED's I believe (some may be mirrored though), so it's possible with a QL fan selected you would light a portion of the daisy chain. If you have 3 fans daisy chained, you may have to break them up into groups of two (or 3) to get them all lit using this method. Experiment around with the corsair fan you select (but I think QL has the most) Another method that would give you more capability would be to adapt these into the 3 pin RGB port on the CORE XT, when setting up that port, you can select more than 1 fan so you can increase the number of LED's. You would plug an adapter into the 3 pin RGB port on the CORE XT, then plug that into an RGB hub, then connect your SWAFAN's into the HUB...That would work a little better in this case, but experiment around with the fan you select on the 4 pin port and you may have to break it up. Let me know what you find! Thanks for watching!!!

@@HardwareArtisan You are correct. It will only light about 1.5 fans in the 3 fan daisy chain. So in the Core XT RGB port method I would plug the 2 sets of 3 fans into an RGB hub and then adapt that into the 3 pin RGB port on the Core Xt. I wont have the ability to address the LED individually but can select 6 fans when adding them to the iCue software? I also tried using Armory Crate's Aura Sync (as the TT SWAFAN EX are compatible) but the software does not detect them even when plugged right into the mobo aRGB headers.

Can I use this to setup the LCD display on the deepcool AK500 digital?
@sickkfit
@sickkfit 6 ай бұрын
Not trying to control the display, just trying to power it on
@HardwareArtisan
@HardwareArtisan 6 ай бұрын
Hi sickkfit, the AK500 digital uses a 9 Pin USB connector for it's LCD display. You could use the CORE XT's USB pigtail to power the LCD display itself. This video primarily was about using the 4 pin fan connectors to control any 5v ARGB device, you would use this adapter cable to light the RGB lighting on the AK500 digital as well. I don't see a spec on how many LED"s are on the cooler, you would have to experiment with which corsair model has enough LED"s to get them all lit, but it should work. But, just to be clear, for the LCD display, it's powered and controlled through the USB port. I hope that helps, thanks for watching!!!

@@HardwareArtisan thanks for the reply! will I need to go into the icue software to get the LEDs powered on? Or will they be on by default, I’m not too bothered about changing the colour of them, just as long as they’re on.

You will need to go into icue to setup the 3 pin lighting configuration. You should be able to then set the hardware lighting up which tells the controller what to do when icue is not running, then shut down icue...

So if i have 6 of the same fans you have the MF120 HALO, If I get 6 of the cables and connect each fan using its own adapter cable to each induvidual port on the XT, it wont mirror like daisy chaining right? or will it only control the first fan? I heard that if I have no Corsair fan on port one the XT wont send signal to anything other than port one. I desperately want to seperate my 6 fans and lay each one out in SignalRGB, and if I HAVE TO have the 4 pin data return like the Corsair fans do, that sucks for me I guess and i'll have to order an RPi and make my own controller...
@HardwareArtisan
@HardwareArtisan 8 ай бұрын
Hi JiggyT, great question. I have attached a couple of fans to the CORE XT with an adapter cable like the one in the video. One in port 1 and one on port 6 for example. One non-corsair fan on each port with no data return pin and they all work fine. You setup each port manually and individually on the CORE XT. I can control them independently and with corsair link. AUTO DETECT will not work with this cable and This would be a problem with the Node CORE and the RGB FAN HUB, those devices would not support using this cable because there is no data return cable. To my knowledge, this will work fine using one fan/one cable on each port. I wouldn't add more than one fan per port though. In turn, Signal RGB should be able to control each port normally. Thanks for your support andwatching the video!!! Good Luck and Have Fun!

I bought this and plugged it into my Deepcool LS720 and Airgoo ARGB Led strip which has 42 leds. It works fine but if you plug both in together the LED strip starts flickering and you can't control it so I recommend just buying 2 if your devices have lots of LEDs.
@HardwareArtisan
@HardwareArtisan 10 ай бұрын
Hi Shreytard, good point, perhaps all that together is too much power draw for a single port on the controller. Using 2 is a great solution as you mentioned, awesome stuff! You might also consider connecting a powered RGB hub to one of the cables and then you can power more devices, but that's adding another device. Using 2 cables is a better solution in most cases. Thanks for watching and your support!!!

I have the corsair carbide spec omega rgb that came with a node pro and a rgb hub. Port 1 of the node is connected to the strip at the front of the case and port 2 is connected to the rgb hub. If I want to add fans to my build from other brands, how would I do that? Do I buy 1 adapter cable and connect port 2 of the node to the rgb hub? Or do I need multiple adapters for all of the fans?

Hello! Some say how to connect all the fans to the Corsair icue, others how to connect the pump and water blocks. Please make a video on how to connect everything to icue without using 500 controllers). I have an Asus mother, if I connect a pump to it, will it be visible in icue? Thank you for your work!!!
@HardwareArtisan
@HardwareArtisan 7 ай бұрын
Hi fiio5812, There are many different components, but that's a good idea to do a more comprehensive video showing a larger number of components. In order for a device to be seen in iCUE, it needs to a Corsair Device and make a USB connection to your motherboard. iCUE won't see other manufacturers devices....with a few exceptions, ASUS Motherboards, Nanoleaf, phillips hue for example. Most Corsair PUMPS I believe will make a USB connection and be seen in icue, but looks a specs for the device, it will show if it's icue compatable. I hope that helps, thanks for your support and for watching!!!
