ive spend almost an hour searching how to connect my old rebel t3 (its been a few years since i had it working) i finally got the correct version installed but now your video reminded me that i could've used my capture card the entire time!! idk why that slipped my mind... i only use it for streaming my xbox lol
@TriggaTreDay Жыл бұрын
Its still a bit of a mystery as to how you were able to fully do this. I have tried to connect 3 of my iphones to my mac and to no avail have I been successful. I was hoping that this video would be a "how to" on how to fully achieve that outcome, besides what cables to use. Do you happen to have a video showing the full set using multiple iphones and mics to 1 mac?

Hey nice video! BTW... have you noticed stuttering with CamLink 4K? I've been testing and realize my Canon to CamLink 4K to MacBook Pro.... is resulting in SOMETIMES stuttering video. I looked closely and actually it's the issue that (even at 30 FPS).... some of the frames being repeated. So it generates a stutter effect sometimes... it seems to be when I'm waving my hands violently or introducing a lot of bright light. I suspect the higher amount of data in the video is overwhelming the CamLink 4K and so it just spits out some duplicate frames until it can catch up...
@pmveugen Жыл бұрын
I haven’t noticed that yet. We do shoot at 30 FPS, but might be a timing issue. Maybe the frame rate is just slightly off. What kind of Canon model are you using?
@JasonParkerMagic Жыл бұрын
@@pmveugen I'm using both a Canon Rebel T7i and a Canon EOS R10. I've noticed it on both. And I have the cameras set to 30fps too. Interesting idea about a timing thing. I was thinking perhaps I could do an experiment of setting both cameras to 60 fps to see if that makes any difference. Although all I really want is 30fps.

What are you connecting the hub end "the power" port to - an electric outlet? I'm confused... So the hub is plugged into your mac via USB C, but what is the end part, but then you plug something into the power port at the end of the hub, and then that gets plugged into...what exactly?
@DetailVideo9 ай бұрын
The hub is a powered USB hub. Because iPhones or cameras draw power, it’s best to use a usb hub with external power supply. This one takes a typical USB Mac or iPhone charger with USB-C connection. More tips: detail.co/blog/record-a-video-podcast-with-your-iphone
@pattimollica87889 ай бұрын
thanks for your reply. I understand it needs more power when 3 things are connected to it. I just don't understand what the hub plugs into. My phone charger plugs into an electric outlet to charge up. So does my mac. are you saying that the hub plugs into the mac on one end and an electric outlet on the other end?

What is the maximum length of the usb-c to lightning cable that can be used?
@DetailVideo6 ай бұрын
High-quality high speed USB cables work pretty well up to about 10-12 feet. Quality really varies and much longer can cause issues. If you need more length, you could run it through a powered USB hub, or use one iPhone wireless with Continuity Camera for the best quality.

I’m a beginner with this. I understand being able to connect your iPhones to your MacBook Pro M1, and record your video. But how are you recording your audio at the same time and if you have a two person podcast? Where are the mics connected to? Sorry if I sound stupid in this😮
@DetailVideo Жыл бұрын
Totally legit question! Depending on your setup you could connect two USB mics or a device that will let you connect multiple microphones (like a Rodecaster). Detail wil detect that device and will record all mics (written on separate tracks). We have a video explaining how to connect multiple USB mics here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIu6doZsi6ykobc

can I also stream from detail ?
@DetailVideo11 ай бұрын
Hi, yes! Here is how to create a streaming setup: You can use the Detail Camera plugin in any software on your Mac. Just select Detail as your camera in your browser or other apps. Everything you see in the video preview in the Detail Studio app will be streamed to the camera plugin. So if you switch scenes or use a combo scene, your active scene will be shown as the camera output. This makes for a fast and flexible streaming setup. --

You can select the camera in the camera settings for your scene in the Mac app. Click the camera icon on the canvas to open the camera drawer. If your iPhone is connected (tip: use usb for best quality) and the Detail USB Camera app for iOS is running, it will show the lens selections.

@DetailVideo2 жыл бұрын
That's the Sony A7 IV. The Sony EV-10, FX3, A7 IV, and A7 RV all support really good quality USB-C streaming. Most of the older models have limited USB output (lower frame rate, lower resolution) and would require an HDMI capture card for great quality.
