Hello everyone.
I wanted to make a step by step tutorial on how to connect bookshelf speakers to a computer. This setup will work for any device with line output(headphone jack).
Enjoy video and good luck.
Lepai LP-2020A+
Updated link to purchase:

Price probably gone up by now. If you can get under $30, I still believe great deal.

Thanks for watching.

I had no idea that speakers came with wires like this. Suffice it to say, I was quite surprised when my Dayton bookshelf speakers came in for my new gaming rig. Glad to know I can still use them. Thanks for the tutorial!

Hey, I've got a tip for you: Your powered sub has a high-level (also called "speaker level") input. You can easily connect the r+l channels from the amp with the r+l channels from the subwoofer and then connect the speaker level output on the sub with your speakers. This saves you a lot of cash for cables! You only need speaker cables and not that many cinch cables. Hope it helped you...

Omg thank you dude - this is an actually easy to follow and emulate video! You have no idea… (or maybe you do because the phenomenon isn’t specifically related to how-to-audio-setup videos)…you have no idea how many totally agonizingly long and unclear and basically just rubbish videos there are out there of well meaning folks who are nonetheless clueless about making videos that make sense... I was literally sinking deeper and deeper into a resigned helplessness because I had no idea how to set my speakers up .. like I debated donating to neighbors or whatever - but this! This video helped me! I can’t believe how simple it really is and yeah my speakers are now happily in use. So yeah, long winded speech but you know. Oh! And omg the song you play at the end - you’re a man with Impeccable musical taste and a great talent for demonstrating clearly and quickly. 👍

I have similar Polk Audio Speakers, Model 30 Series II, and I was also thrown for a loop by the bottom tweeter placement - in fact these have a metal wall mount bracket on the back of the speaker and its on the end (top of speaker) where the woofer is mounted, as is a product label; large rubber feet are on the tweeter end. BTW these speakers make much more sense for computer speakers, especially with one of these little amplifiers (I have a Kinter K2020A+) and sound is at least equal to (or better) than a high end Altec Lansing system I had previously. The sound fills the room with plenty of bass without using a subwoofer.

I just bought some Kenwood KS-707EX-H Surround Sound Speakers but I want to connect them to my pc. Would this be the exact same process to set them up? At the moment I’m only planning on using maybe the middle speaker and left and right. I could just use a small amp like in this video right? Something with 3 channels or more to hook up the 3 speakers
@oscargo29
@oscargo29 10 жыл бұрын
reply to 09lashley: To connect a subwoofer you need to split audio coming from device(PC). So if you have audio cable going to your av40 speakers, split that connection and send it to subwoofer (active). So really all you need is a splitter(or maybe two) for your audio cable from your device(PC). Also, your computer may have a line out just for a subwoofer. If so, just use that connection to output it to your Active Subwoofer. Usually Orange color. If not, then just split your connection you are using for your speakers. Good luck.
