I’ve never felt so seen. Had IBD and back pain for 15 years, knee problems, Achilles tendon pain, fatigue. Had to fight to get an appointment with rheumatologist today and she tied all of my problems together, including my siblings psoriasis etc. I feel like I’m finally on a path to healing and improving my quality of life.

I was diagnosed with AS at 22 along with HLA-B27, forced into retirement at 45, due to neglecting treatment, got re-diagnosed, now 55, on 5 meds just to walk, along with Cosentyx which is way better than Humira in my opinion. It has now affected all my tendons and ligaments, so, don't neglect the symptoms

I just tested positive for HLA- B27 gene. My twin sister tested positive with this gene over 5 years ago.

Thank you! I have both Rh factor positive and HLA B 27 my RA doctor is talking AS, because of chronic pain for decades, I have spine X Ray findings that indicate something but the RA doctor ordered an MRI. 20 years ago I was told mild Rheumatoid arthritis. How rare is it to have two or more types of arthritis? I have lung and tummy issues.

I am HLA-B27 positive and after experiencing back pain, my PCP sent me to a rheumatologist. The rheumatologist did an MRI and x-rays but determined it wasn't AS because my SI joints looked normal. However, I was diagnosed with seronegative RA. After doing a lot of research on my own, I found a rheumatologist online who said he believes seronegative RA and undifferentiated spondylitis are the same disease. What is your opinion? My rheumatologist does a good job for the most part and as I understand it the treatment for several different rheumatological diseases are the same, so I am okay with my diagnosis. I take hydroxychloroquine and methotrexate which do seem to help. Thoughts?

Who diagnosed you?? And why are you not being treated??? Try a biological I have AS, ask your Rheumatologist for Cosentyx

@ insurance doesn’t cover some meds, etc
