Connecting a GroWatt to Wifi. I should've read the manual.....

I'm now struggling my way through setting up the Wi-Fi for the Growatt All-in-one inverter. I probably should've read the directions, but it was just too small of a font for me to read! I should've used a magnifying glass b/c the setup is a bit confusing.

Trust me, you will be much happier running Solar Assistant rather than the Growatt WI-FI, you do need a RASPI to run it on. I learned this the hard way, my dongle is now sitting in a box.

Sure you will get it all working in the end.🤠 Might not be right time ,but what interest me is can you use the smart battery with like a dumb batt no CAN or communications 48v invertor like say the freezer set up.. Maybe never seen anyone use a sever rack batteries same way you use say you Chins..

Yes you can. You would just need a bi-directional battery monitor. The CAN and RS485 connections are just advanced features, not necessary.

It took me several tries and I finally got my wifi set up as well... I use shinephone.

HOWdy O-G-B, YUP = I too had to put on my READING Glasses, turn ON a strong Reading Lamp, & retrieve a Magnifying Glass to READ the worthless INSTRUCTIONS ... I just purchased one of these GroWATT WiFi DATA LOGGERS I have been unsuccessful attempting to REGISTER my device GroWATT rejects my attempts at CREATING an account I'll try again tomorrow thanks for your video COOP ...

I would only use the 2.4ghz, more reliable and you do not need it to use a whole lot of connection.
