Hi jim here just wondering why does the manufacturer not want you to use any more than 4 of those batteries in parallel I have eight I'd like to use them in parallel is that possible love your videos thanks again

LiFePo4 batteries made their market appearance in a sea of conventional wet-cell (of various types) charging devices…Thus, at the same time it greatly benefited manufacturers and LiFePo4’s marketing acceptance to irresponsibly claim that existing wet-cell charging algorithms (specifically, charging voltages, charging stages, charge duration, and cell equalization) were compatible with this new lithium cell chemistry - from my own extensive individual cell-grouping testing, I can assure you that this is a falacy …Manufacturers and Vendors alike are both invested in and financially incentivized to carry forward this algorithm mal-information narrative, and due to what’s typically a 4 parallelled-cell-groupings configuration in a 12v battery, a cell or more can fail (resulting from improper algorithm), yet the end user might never be the wiser since (in a paralleled config) the voltage remains closely to or even at the same level - ultimately it’s capacity (and longevity) that’s lost but likely not to be recognized until past the warranty period… To some extent or another, all brands are impacted by this charging device(s) mis-match…

Just ordered a disconnect today before I saw your video. I didn't even think about how I was going to do the resister thing before throwing the switch. I will do the same on my disconnect.. Thanks for the great idea. I am now subscribed!

Nice comparison :) I have all 18v Ryobi tools and mower. I've been able to replace my 1.5ah OEM batteries with 3rd party 6ah batteries for less cost. Even if they're not a true 6ah, they are certainly more than the OEM 1.5ah.

I use a ebike battery. Its 52v 20ah so about 1040 watt-hours and flows at about 500watts if I remember correctly. Just use the xt60 cable in the solar port. Ecoflow delta 2000

The key is to keep your freezer full to maintain a steady temperature. If you don’t have a lot of product in the freezer you’re consuming more power. You can add gallons of water as they turn into ice the freezer in turn will stabilize and only sip power allowing the freezer to be more energy efficient.

Great video,I read that upon finishing the repair,Put it in charge mode,And charge it until it says FULL,I have the same charger as you,I have a brand new battery,And it’s reading 72% SOH,I’m going to put it in repair to see if I can get it up a bit towards 100% or thereabouts,It could be it’s winter in the UK,Batteries don’t like cold,Great video,Thanks.

52v Ebike battery= 500watts input . I have the Ecoflow delta 2000 which has a voltage input of 60v. I also have an ebike. So if I connect the ebike battery to the input which cost me £329 for 52v 20ah that will charge the eco flow at about 500w. So thats about 1040 watt hours. The ecoflow smart battery is £699 for 1024 watt hours.

I emailed eco- worthy on advise for programming victron mppt to work with one of their 12v 280ah lifepo4 batteries. They sent me a response but it dont make sense it goes against advise given in videos like this .. "We recommend adjusting the charging voltage and float voltage to 14.6V. This is a common setting for LiFePO4 batteries to ensure optimal charging and battery longevity".
@PhilP-b1y4 күн бұрын
This is because of what is a ‘common industry convention’ or concurrence as to existing charging device algorithms …’Implied compatibility’ in this way is mere marketing that sells batteries - Vendors are incentivized to tow the line…
@OffGridBasement10 сағат бұрын
I don't recommend setting float to 14.6v. Keeping the voltage that high creates unnecessary heat. I set my float to drop to 13.8v after 2 hours. You're battery SoC will still be around 99%.

Just got this battery. If you tap on bms in the app, and it's just charged it to full, it will say something like shields up, bms is no longer accepting a charge. However, after it's been in standby for a while at 100%, it only says, bms is normal. I wonder if it would say anything about trying to charge it when it's too cold. Also, the balance button when flashing will indicate it's doing a balancing and tapping the balance button will say it is balancing. I too read 12.9 v when the app says it's at 13.4. Don't know why.

I set my monitor as you described to 100% when the charging was finished. Monitor showed 100% as you indicated in the video that it should. I drove the cart for several miles and the monitor didn't change from 100%. The app showed 88% charge after the drive. Not sure why the monitor didn't show the reduction in voltage?

my off grid system is 48v and i am willing to make a 12 or 24v bank in seperate solar charging system feed a dc to dc converter and keep my pack always full but i m going to use a 12 or 24v spare victron disconect.solid state relay i have and program it to do some safety job . ... if the system collapses i guess its the in rush current before the converter think 2 high amp lamps before and after can work as amplifires and withstand the push.. . i think of maintain 50% of the power the dc converter can do to prevent any heat . my concern is to find any spot that will have tolerance and fix it every possible way..!!! , the reasson i do this is to have a seperate battery that when is over 15% will give all the power to the main system but will feed the lights and the dc pump of my shed. btw when system feeds my main it will add its extra power for as long as smart disconect wont kick in.... .

I'm really wanting to setup the same thing so it more automated. Can't quite figure out the best way to do it without having a huge in rush that would possibly burn up a boost converter. Thanks for the info and the comment!

A NEMA 5-15 plug (i.e. standard US wall outlet with vertical prongs) is rated for 15 amps and should be on a 15 amp breaker. Anything with a standard US plug should not draw more than 15 amps at 120 volts. That's 1800 watts. It's easy to find 2000 watt inverters with 4000 watt peak, so just get one and you can run anything with a standard US plug. The bigger issue is the DC side. No inverter is 100% efficient so it's going to need more watts on the DC side than it's providing on the AC side. You're well into the 100-200 amp range on the DC side, so I personally wouldn't go less than 300 amp hours of battery. Any less than that and you're really pushing the battery very hard.
