I think you want to select "Iambic B" or "Iambic A" to have Vail respond to the way you are keying :) Or my personal favorite, Ultimatic.

Great project thanks for sharing. Now, the Iambic paddle has two outputs to determine the Dits and Dats, the straight key only one output, how is the straight key connected to produce the different sounds?

With a straight key you determine the length of the sound, by holding and releasing the key. Key type has to be selected in settings of the vail (or vband) webpage.
