Connecting Audio interface to android | Record Music on Android

This video is just an example of connecting an audio interface to android.
SORRY for the bad audio quality I used a very cheap mic.
it does not mean that you can not record very good audio on android, this mixer work just fine, you only need a good mic. thanks for click on the video and watch!

I have a Roland QUAD Capture 55, which is powered by the regular USB cable. However I guess that won't work with Android. Do USB-cables exist which splits into an (micro)USB for data transfer and for powering the interface? (I own an external blu-ray device which has something like that, however that won't be usable for this.)

Hi! It should work fine, however there are options. Option 1: USB adapters for android devices that come with both usb USB and microUSB input to connect a usb device and to charge the phone at the same time so can provide enough power to connected device. Option 2: use a powered USB hub. Option 3: there are usb cable adapter called something like: dual usb female Y cable, powered usb cable... etc. Thanks!

I use a zoom b2.1u bass multi effects pedal connected to my android tablet through USB, no mixer, and it works brilliantly to record using Audio Evolution app. Got a powered USB hub in between that powers both the tablet and pedal too. Not gonna get professional results from it but a great little setup for home recording or learning/playing along with spotify tracks or using guitar Tabs app. Can also plug in USB midi controller keyboard and record midi tracks as well as audio tracks.

Hello, I want to attach a pair of headphones (with microphone, built in them) to this device, then start a Screen Recording of a game,on a Android 7 tablet with this device atached. WILL IT WORK? There's various options, even the little very cheap usb audio adapters for only a couple of £/$ can work though most of them just have mono input, Beringer do a cheap low latency audio interface with stereo phono inputs/outputs or you can pay a bit more for something like a focusrite interface.

You should set the output to where you want. I would choose the same mixer as output.

I know, Android is not very good in audio and music production. Even though there might be apps that record more than one track at the same time however this depends on the audio interface you use. That means that the audio interface (hardware) should be able to send 2 or more tracks to the recording device. Thanks!

It does not charge your phone. However there is another adapter that has both usb and charging input. So if you planning to record for long time make sure you get that!

You can use this one, I’ve seen people use Focusrite audio interface on Android phones. I’ve never used one. Most audio interface should work as long as they don’t need a driver to be installed.

Try to use same cable and same adapter I used here. That’s all you need. You may get an android USB adapter that has both usb and charging input. Some audio interfaces need extra power.

Not sure about that! Although if you connect a mic would be through the interface, in this case the interface is powered by a separated power supply.

If you are using a usb interface that will probably have phantom power, your phone shouldnt be affected

it should work, 48V phantom is not about high power. the only difference you may experience willl be a lower output signal if you connect your headphones to the device.
