This was extremely helpful and saved me from spending around 400 bucks on the iRig Quattro plus this mixer I can take to smaller gigs or rehearsals and record/stream them with ease for around 100-150 bucks for a used MG10XU. I had no idea they sold those adapters to knock the level down enough for the iPhone to handle it. This is great, thanks a ton!!

Great video, as always, just want to confirm the plug style with you preparatory to using the same for my church. It appears that you are using a y-cord with left/right, 1/4", TS, male plugs to send a stereo output from a Yamaha MG10 to a 3.5mm TRS male plug. That 3.5mm TRS is then inserted in the female end of the Headset Buddy with a TRRS male plug on the opposite end. That TRRS plug is then inserted in the iPhone or connected to a dongle for use with a lightning plug. I appreciate all you do to serve the Lord and those trying the do the same through technology. Blessings!

The method in this video uses the mic input on the iOS device and is NOT stereo. I found a better solution is to use the Apple "Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter". You plug the USB port of this adapter into the USB port on your mixer and the lightning connector to your iOS device. Here are the benefits: - Digital line-level signal into the iPhone/iPad (no worry about low or hot signal levels) - Stereo audio recording in the iOS camera app (the line-in is chosen automatically) - iOS device can charge with the optional connection of a power cable (lightning) for long sessions - USB audio connection is bi-directional, meaning after receiving audio from your mixer to record, the playback goes back to the mixer without the need to change any cables

so if your recording the minister via an iphone (due to lack of funds/equipment lol), instead of the iphones mic picking up the whole room, this set up allows the piano/speakers mic to come directly out of the mixer and override this and give you a clear sound from mic and piano thats plugged into Mixer???????? I seem to have a problems with the boss jock Jr app. I’ve hooked up everything as you said to my iPhone and installed the app. When you push the lock symbol it works but it always seems to pick up from the iPhone speaker not from the mixer. It also says how are you listening when I’ve connect to the iPhone. It say’s headphone or speaker. I’ve tried connecting just with the cables and with an audio video interface adapter. It still picks up sound through the iPhone speaker. The audio interface is a small device I use for my canon camera and it works perfectly fine. I also install another audio metering app called Pro Movie and even that doesn’t seem to show or pick up the sound from the mixer using the cables or from my interface device. Not sure why it doesn’t work for my iPhone solution. Any suggestions. Thanks

Used my Aux Out thru headset buddy and into iPad Pro. Tried live streaming thru KZbin and the iPad still used the on board mic instead of the mix. How do I switch this?
