What if I only have a straight tee what leg of the tee should the flow go in to? I thought the bull? tia

You can make a connection anyway it works the best for you. But I'm case the air doesn't split evenly, you might need to install a manual volume damper in order to balance the airflow to both outlets.

Hi, must the diameter of the flex duct match with the diameter of the wye that it is going onto?

It is much easier if it does match. Otherwise, needs modifications.

The contractor screwed the inner liner to the wye then taped over it. Was that ok?

He zip tied and taped the duct on to the metal wye. It’s a great connection.

What happens if you don’t have insulation on the y?

2 things: 1. There will be an energy loss through uninsulated metal 2. While cooling, condensation will form on the surface of the metal and will water will be dripping
