In the previous video I installed the DIY busbars (video: • are DIY busbars a vict... ) now it's time to install the fuses and connect the busbars with the LiFePo4 batteries.
In this video I show you step by step how I arranged and connected the cables. Changed the plan to hide the cables in a cable gutter into a project to install them on a 5mm plexiboard. Hope you all like the result. The fuses I installed are rated 125A.

Loooovin this video series man, please keep it up! I'm in the same boat, soon building a house and want to have a DIY batteries, panels, etc. I was just wondering a couple of things, if you happen to know! 1. Are these high quality connector for batteries available in Amazon Europe? (I live in Spain) 2. With Victron MPPTs are you able to produce as much energy as the panels can create and send it to the grid? I just want to be able to manage the energy I'm producing even if the batteries are full and not just thrrotle the MPPTs instead.

Thanks for nice feedback Jonatan. Working hard on next release, should be online this week. Will check for the connectors, I'll keep you posted. Check my FB channel too for updates about hardware. facebook.com/groups/1076897519357184 For now, the powerwall if fully off-grid. In the future it should compensate for the house usage but don't think I'm gonna send power back to the grid. The installation is needs to go trhough serious inspection and honestly in future with EV, heatpump, ... there wont be much left to send to the grid.

Hydraulic crimper works for most sizes, but you need to change the header size depending upon the size of wire being used.

Muy bueno los cables siempre la misma longitud, no olvidemos que la electricidad busca el camino más corto,,, good

Yes all cables have the same length, so no losses. Have a nice day.

Hello. Just one question. What kind of screws did you use? I'm talking about type of metal to avoid electric corrosion between copper and the second one metal?

I used INOX screws. System is in use since 1 year and there's no corosion. Franky

@@easypowerwall Same here. For Aluminium I either use inox but I prefer to use paste from wago. But... Still I some kind guessing. I have read a lot of articles and still I'm stupid....

Thank you for the video -- excellent job -- (2) things ... What SIZE fuse are you using (you may have said earlier and I missed it) .. and second .. I think I mentioned this earlier in one of your previous videos but ALL the cables from all the wires really should be at the same length in order to ensure that all the batteries are charged and discharged equally ... shorter paths get more use so we try to make all of our power paths identical lengths ... GREAT WORK though ... // as a sidenote its funny to see you with a jacket and watch cap on .... its 95 degrees F here in South Texas ....

Hi, Good question, didn't mentioned the fuse size in the video, will add it to the video description. It's 125A. Normally it's should never melt, the max current of the BMS is set @ 100A. Some paths are indeed a little shorter, but with the limited current per pack the impact is very limited, but it's a good idea for a future video to check the difference over the packs under load. About the side note....I recorded the video a few months ago (January/february) during wintertime in EU. I used winter timeframe to swap the old 25KWh 18650 PW with the LiFePo4 PW. It' was 40F back then, now we're in the low 70s. Thanks again for great comment, these things keep me going. Franky - easypowerwall.

Do the math on cable resistance vs. battery effective resistance at nominal current. The difference is around 100x making cable length matching not as important.

Personally, I would have gone for the Lynx Power-In, Shunt, and Distributor system. Much cleaner, easier to install, much smaller compared to one in your video.

Yes that's personal choice. I like my setup, much cheaper and easier to service and add hardware in the future. Thanks for taking the time to send me comment. Have a nice day.

@@easypowerwallyou are right... Everyone could use what he/she prefer. In my opinion DIY is about fun and experiments. You could always buy ready stuff if you can afford but this is not a deal...DIY is about invention and out of the box thinking.
