Hi, I have a Victron 150/85 regulator and I would like to use the relay to control a 220 volt contactor to turn on a diesel generator. Is this possible?
@easypowerwall18 күн бұрын
Hi Gio, thanks for your question. You can use the relay but keep in mind that it has limitations 230V/4A or 60V DC/1A. If you need higher current you should use an extra external contactor. Good luck. Franky - EASYPOWERWALL

@easypowerwallАй бұрын
Vg Franky - EASYPOWERWALL

I have a question, My 2x JK-BMS (JK PB2A16S20P) are configured to let my victron multiplus 2 (3x / 3 phase) load my 2 batterypacks (16x320Ah LiFeP04 Cell) (JK BMSes connected to eachother, then 1 can cable to the Cerbo GX. My Charging (absorption) voltage is about 54,7V with high current for an hour, and then raises to about 56,7V with low current. Thats the wrong way in voltage!?? Cerbo is set to DVCC Mode. My most important BMS settings are: Cell OVP: 3.65 V Vol. Cell RCV: 3.6 V = 57.6 V SOC 100% Volt: 3.55 V = 56.8 V Cell OVPR: 3.54 V Cell UVPR: 3.02 V SOC 0% Volt: 3.0 V = 48 V Cell UVP: 2.8 V Power off vol: 2.65 V Vol. Cell RFV: 3.50 V = 56 V RCV time: 1.0 H RFV time: 6.0 H Someone can help me to get this right? My thougths are first high voltage and amps absoption, then lower voltage and amps for float? What settings in BMS do i have to change?? Many thanks for reading this,

Great video! Does the solar panel maximum fuse rating apply to the wiring past the combiner box? Let's say have 4 panels with 6 amp rating. And a 15 amp max Fuse rating. If I parallel them once before the combiner box it would be 12 amps then at the box it would be 24 Amps on the way to the charger. Can that flow backwards toward the panels?
@easypowerwall2 ай бұрын
HEy, Because of the anti-flow-back diodes in the combiner box there's no flow backwards from combined power towards solar. Your numbers are correct. Check your charger, if possible go for a higher voltage input. Most MPPT accept 100V and convert to 12V. Good luck. Franky - EASYPOWERWALL

@easypowerwall2 ай бұрын
Not really sure what 30A+30A means. is it the capacity of your lifepo4 cells? If so charge both banks with 30A (= 1C). Always good to check the spec sheet of your batteries. In my case battery bank is +1000Ah so there's no limit in charge current as I will never charge above 1C, it's more like 0.1C Frank - EASYPOWERWALL

I have panels of the same model and specifications. Due to space limitations, I have to mount them in 3 different areas. I want to place the maximum number of panels in each area. In this case 3 different strings will generate electricity at 3 different output voltages. Can I connect these 3 strings to the mppt after making parallel connections in the combiner box? Or in such a necessity, with considering the minimum cost and maximum efficiency, what would be your solution?
@easypowerwall4 ай бұрын
Hi, In this case I suggest to use 3 MMPT chargers. One charger for each direction. If panels with different azimuth will be connected to the same combinerbox, this will not work properly. Good luck.

Hi Mate, I have a Solis hybrid 5KW inverter, and I'm using it with 16 EVE 304 cells and a JK inverter BMS with an active balancer. I've been running this setup for the past five months. The JK BMS communicates the state of charge (SOC) to the inverter, but the SOC keeps drifting over time. Here's the issue: even when the BMS indicates a 100% SOC, the voltages drift slightly lower with each cycle. Over the weeks, the SOC gradually drifts, so while it shows 100%, each cell and the overall pack voltage are slightly lower than the previous cycle. If I adjust the battery capacity settings, the BMS resets to 70% SOC, and the inverter charges another 3 or 4 kWh. This SOC drift is frustrating because on cloudy days, my 16 kWh battery effectively only charges to 11 or 12 kWh. The remaining 4 kWh stays uncharged because the BMS incorrectly reports 100% SOC to the inverter. To fully charge the battery, I have to keep changing the capacity settings in the BMS back and forth. Is there a way to use this inverter without CAN communication or by setting it as a generic battery? If anyone else has the same issue or knows a solution, please comment and suggest how to fix this problem. Thanks!
@easypowerwall4 ай бұрын
Hi, I know SOC and JK BMS is not a great combo, specially with the older BMS. I suggest to use a decent SOC meter (like the victron) to measure and report the SOC. The latest JK-BMS with the breakout board has a better SOC tracking. Hope this helps. Franky - EASYPOWERWALL

I have 4 different Android devices and none of them can install the app to access the JK BMS controllers.. Had to use a Windows 11 Pro laptop to program them and bring the 30kw of batteries online.. The controllers themselves seem to do their job and keep the cells in line but the compatibility of the app is very lacking and it is not that big or complex of an app.. I think it has more to do with security and whatever silliness is going on there.. I wish they would just spend the extra 50 cents and install a Wi-Fi chip that has its own local network homepage built in like routers have..
@ricardophelps63235 ай бұрын
If you only charge to 3.45 why don't you have 18S config? Victron equipment is happy right up to 66V so even a full charge twice a year you would go to 65.7V.

If you run 2x JK newinverter BMS in parallel, and connect it to Deye (or some other inverter with CANbus), does the SOC be reported in the inverter from the Main BMS, is a mix of pack 1 + pack 2?

@nategunn28305 ай бұрын
Thanks yeah I tried that. I also have a golf cart with a JK BMS that is acting the same. I'm able to get into both if I retry over and over including restarting the app. Also restarting the BMS helps. I believe it's an app issue or maybe it's just my android phone. 🤷
@SkypowerwithKarl5 ай бұрын
The JK BMS is still one of the best and getter better. Both the original form factor and the new inverter (closed loop/networked) keep improving. I have four and once I figured out the settings they have been running for close to a few years trouble free. I will say that documentation is only fair. Like anything, there will be some duds but this isn’t too common with these. The most common problem isn’t the bms, it’s an error in installation. And usually if it fails, it just stops unlike some others that can wreak your cells. I highly recommend these

What is the fuse internal resistance, the higher the resistance the more it will drop your balance current.
@easypowerwall3 ай бұрын
Fuse IR must be close to 0. All leads are equally long, so if there's a little drop, it's the same drop over all leads. So far it's running great for 18 months, minimal balancing when cell hit 3.45V.
@ricog14975 ай бұрын
You also can include the smartshunt in the ve.smartnetwork. it tells the the correct battery voltage and current to the charge controllers. so the voltage drop between battery and the charge controllers doesn´t matter.

The oil lamp comparison is not very good. I use 2 separate battery banks, consisting of 2x16 EVE280Ah, each with it's own JK BMS v3, communicating with each other and with the charger. Let's continue with your example, one bank has problems and the bms is stopping the charge, but at such a large capacity (560Ah) it is not uncommon to charge it, or discharge it even with 200-300Ah. If a bms enters in the protection mode, you would push all that current in the remaining bank, which depending on how it is setup, will either enter also in protection, either will push it hard. Either way, not optimal. With the communication you don't have that issue, as soon as a bms is out, the charger will decrease the charging current. This was just an example, issues can be multiple, a cell or bms temperature, cell voltage etc. PS: just o e more UTP cable between wthen2 bms's and one to your charger. Nothing complicated.
