Rescue crews returned to the Potomac River on Friday as they continued searching for victims of Wednesday night’s deadly midair collision between an American Airlines flight and a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter.
Officials said the operation is fully focused on recovery, with no survivors expected. All black boxes have been recovered, according to the NTSB. Officials said that based on the information they have gathered, they have not made any conclusion about the cause of the crash.
"There's been a lot of questions and discussion regarding manifest. Let me make this very clear. The NTSB will not, and has not released a manifest. We have not in our history, not in our past. We will not be in this accident," said National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) Board Member Todd Inman during a Friday evening news conference.
