That Don Cheadle looking DEA agent (Don Cheatle?😂) in the background that's giving the cut-off sign is hilarious. He knows what they're doing is absolutely wrong. They all do. This is all about money. I know someone very well who wrote parking tickets and wrote over $500k one year. The next year they hired 3 more people and put that person in charge of them. The city manager shook the person's hand and called their handshake "the million dollar handshake." The population is under 60k, so that was about $10 for every man, woman, child, infant, baby, and elderly person in the city. In civil forfeiture, if you can't prove ON THE SPOT that the money is yours, they take it. It costs THOUSANDS to get it back and takes the better part of a year at the very least. Why do they allow it to continue? Well, why wouldn't they? They get hundreds of millions every year across the nation from this. *The better question is, WHY do WE ALLOW IT to continue?* because we absolutely should not.

I thought i saw him send a command down the leash. So i moved up so i could hear what they told the driver. They told the driver the dog was trained to detect people that were hidden and that the k9 alert on his car. They searched the car found nothing and wrote it off as there had been people hidden but they got out of the vehicle and were hiking around the check point. 3 years later i was called as a witness for the defense. Isn't it $10000? Not $100? This OIG dude throws the DEA under the bus on this on... He also said that it is "concerning" that people were harassed and deprived of their civil rights under the color of law because they purchased a last minute ticket... CONCERNING? More like highly illegal, ethical lapses start at the top. And he also said that they (DEA) were told 10 years ago they cannot be doing that... Further implicating the government of not following up, having any oversight, etc. for the last 10 years?! Holy fack, this is a RICO charge no brainer

By their own admission it took the Federal Department of Justice more than 10 years to learn about this problem of the DEA robbing and stealing cash money from innocent citizens of the USA. I agree, (except in that first case, with that poor Chinese man ), but as the vid progresses, it seems they are just chasing money, and it seems to me that they think black people have all the money now. Maybe those DEA agents are chasing "money", as they think now, the poor white people have none because all the black people are yelling so much about discrimination, so that they get everything, for fear of being accused of being discrimintive! Those journalist are fabulous. Well done. This is exactly what journalism is about; exposing the bad injustices that are going on in the world.

"Cash can be confiscated by police and used to pay for the "War on Drugs"", implying that it was a Tax Savings on taking our Rights away. I remember when it began, it was the George H.W. Bush Administration, after his predecessor had "gotten tough" on crime (but Gary Betzner and Barry Seal were importing coke for him in a complicated, Contras/arms for Iran deal). Media reported on the new confiscation as "tough on crime" but even people that I knew weren't alarmed enough to say much. Iran/Contra? No, they went to sleep and even humored Ronnie when he made a pretend (literally a weekend) war on Grenada.

This is exactly why I retired early and ceased flying on commercial air carriers. The job I left involved couriering parts and components to, then performing time-sensitive repairs on very expensive, critical equipment for my employer. This impropriety displayed here cost my company a small fortune with delay, fees, and lost revenue, and me a lot of frustration and embarrassment culminating in these incentivized agents insisting the replacement component I was carrying was definitely a destructive device (though clearly tagged and documented as not). The company (who does, and did a great deal of business with the gov't and the military, especially) intervened, getting me out of the handcuffs and the detention room. After returning from that mission, a resignation soon followed and a vow to never to participate in this farce again. Thanks for your investigative work with this.

This is only part of the problem.......Civil Asset Forfeiture is still in full swing with State, Local, and Federal agents within our boundries......They want the population to think they are after drug dealers. However, overwhelmingly funds are taken from regular citizens and No charges filed and NO cash returned.....they tell the citizen to sue them for the cash return.....but in most cases the legal fees are greater than the value of the cash...it is called theft by cop !!!!! Would any Citizen believe cops can legally steal from citizens??? Same as in the video above!!! With the Robber the citizen can fight for his cash....if he fights with a cop then they pile on more charges.....
@patricknikolauk2709Ай бұрын
This is not a practice confined to airports. Civil asset forfieture happens on highways as well when the police search vehicles during routine traffic stops. It's a dirty little secret that the police are confiscating money without cause and once they get the feds involved it almost impossible for people to get that cash back because it costs so much to retain an attorney. The Institute for Justice deserves alot of credit for representing the man with the tow truck. Without their assistance he probably would not have been able to get his money back.

This crap should never have been happening in the first place. I believe each and every one of the DEA agents that participated in this type of activity should be charged with theft of property if they took any bags off of an airplane. If the agents confiscated any property, they should face a second set of charges for theft again. The DEA should be held accountable for all of the thefts they have committed. What happens to all of the property the DEA has confiscated prior to this incident?
