I didn’t realize this until just now, but there is a reason why it seems that mainstream media has been going after Bedard recently: it’s because his image is too squeaky clean. He doesn’t drink, and he (allegedly) does not eat junk food as he once said. Media outlets need something for their headlines. So if they can get him on locker room behaviour or minor NHL fines, they will run with those stories.

Bedard is going to be awesome...but let's be fair...the highlight dangle was against a defenseman that was drafted 2 years ahead of him at 6 (some considered it a stretch) and has only played his 9 game "taste" of the league to not burn year 1 of his ELC. He's hardly a seasoned NHL defenseman considering he was just reassigned to the AHL squad last night to start the year. * yes I am a red wings fan, just have to point out Edvinsson isn't really an NHL defenseman yet so that dangle was against an AHL defenseman who is upper tier.

I've already heard of interviews where he's being told "not to go to hard on his teammates" as a chicagoan I'm interpreting that as the next possible "Michael jordan" as an asshole teammate that pushes his team to be better.
