Yeah McDavid, Debrincat, and Strome was basically good enough to be a solid 2nd NHL line their last year. The odd thing is that NHL teams all made a huge mistake in how they valued Debrincat and Strome when they were in their draft years. Every team basically wanted Strome and he went 3rd overall in 2015 mainly because he was 6ft 3 and a center over Marner (a mistake obviously plus Rantenen, Barzel, Chabot, and a ton of other players went way lower). Meanwhile Debrincat had similar numbers and went 39th in 2016 because he was 5ft 7. 2016 has been a pretty weak draft class so far with a lot of busts so Debrincat is probably a very close 4th best from that year after Matthews, Laine, and Tkachuk. Of those 4 each has had very similar numbers minus Debrincat having one less year so far so it's anyone's guess who will end up being the best.
@kappak43713 жыл бұрын
@@brandontrost8888 the 2nd best in that draft class was marner
@AEMoreira812 жыл бұрын
@@brandontrost8888 -- The problem is generally with players who have the IQ but aren't physical specimens. A player like Luc Robitaille was drafted very late because he was a horrible skater, and his skating never really improved, but he just knew where the puck was. I would also want to know why Ryan O'Reilly fell to the second round, given that he made the NHL for good his draft year (the only second-rounder to play a full season in the NHL at age 18 of which I'm aware).
