I saw your painting the interior black video. I have a cleaning tip for you on the plastic parts. Soak them in the kitchen sink with Dawn dishwashing liquid soap. Then drain all the dirty water fill the sink again add more dawn and use a vegetable scrub brush on each piece as it gets into all the little textured tiny nooks and crannies of the plastic. Rinse well and let air dry. Dawn is the best for removing oils, dirt and grime. After you use primer and paint you will need to use a clear paint sealer. That will prevent the paint from wearing off from oils and dirt from hands and friction. If it were me I'd ask auto shops what they use for that. Don't use alcohol on plastic as it can bruise and discolor plastic.

Definitely feel you on the paint sealer. Definitely have had some flaking off. Probably due to both the prep and not sealing it

@@ConnorLee it's very time consuming painting and small plastic pieces are a pain in the ass to paint. You did all the hard parts which is prepping, disassembling and reassembling. The problem is the paint products you're using, they are not high quality. Also all types of paint needs at least 24 hours or more to cure and it depends on the type of weather and how many coats. You need professional grade paints. Auto body shops and car detailing places would have the types of products you need. They might also be able to offer you some tips, or even do it for you. I'm sure if you pulled up in your fine looking antique prelude at an auto body shop, they'd all run out and drool on your car and be interested in helping you out. My grandfather was a professional house painter, so I know a few things about paint. And I hate painting...lol. If I lived near you, I'd come over and give you a hand.

Do you recommend this car as a first car? I really like the feeling that this car gives me
@ConnorLee5 жыл бұрын
Bendegúz Sal this car is badass imo and as long as you pick up one that’s been well maintained I think you’ll be okay! Reason I think it would be a good first car is it’s fairly easy to work on so you can get a lot of diy practice in and it’s a fun car to build off of! Just do your research and don’t jump on the first one you find! Look for rust free too✌🏼

As a long time Prelude owner I will say that it's probably the best driver experience I've had so far. Car is extremely reliable, handles amazing and turns on a dime. However, before getting one you should know that there is extremely little aftermarket support for Preludes, and OEM parts are becoming less and less common, not to mention very expensive. Not to mention, the possible engine swaps are very limited and the swap kits aren't in production anymore, and the same goes for all aftermarket bodykits. If you're looking for something comfortable and quick on its wheels that's fun to drive and fuel efficient, this is the car for you. If you're looking for a car you can tune and mod like crazy, this is not the car for you. It's also good to note for people that have never seen one that despite its looks, it's still a FWD car, so while it handles beautifully, it's not a drift car.

Hi. Im not sure if you'll se this. Im just asking for opinions. Like my grandpa gave me a Honda Prelude 1983. But I don't think that it is well maintained bcs last time I saw it works well was like 7 years ago. Right now the car is in my family's garage. The engine's not working. The tyre is in bad shape. Everything else such as the car body looks perfectly fine. Im just wondering if you're in this kind of situation, would you just sell the body to some vtg buyers ? or fix them so it can be used ? I am very interested to repair it since I think it looks cool having such a great vtg car but sometimes Im scared that It will need to be repaired again several times after restoring the car. That would actually affect me since Im a student, ( although I got my parents ). So yeah just asking for an opinion from you. Btw, I dont think the 83 Prelude looks fire as yours.
