@@bcdieselsofficial the 6spd valve body conversion is ok if you aren’t going for power. If you are going for power it’s best to stay with the 5spd because the clutches will get fried.

Ok thanks just heard a lot of bad things
@ConnorRydland3 жыл бұрын
@@erikoltmanns yeah overall the lb7 block is a pretty good block to work with, until you push power. Doesn’t have crank issues like LMM’s, head gasket issues like LLY’s, piston cracking issues like LML’s, and there’s no emissions so it’s a safe platform to build. The big issue is just the valve covers and the labor it takes to get them off to do injector work

@ConnorRydland3 жыл бұрын
I mean that’s a yes and no question. Depends on what you want, if you want a truck with enough power to spin the earth, go for it. Trucks can be driven year round, and have more space.

@@ConnorRydland thanks for the fast reply. I am still debating, I need to find someone in my area with a built diesel and give me a ride, At the end of the day 1300hp is retarded straight up. I smile and think my lb7 with a ppe tuner is fast lmao. It needs a rebuild so I might just build the motor and send it. Have you ran your truck in the 1/4 mile yet?
@ConnorRydland3 жыл бұрын
@@That2strokeRider it’s honesty the torque and the fact that you’ll get wheel spin at 90mph that makes these things wild. I haven’t ran it down the track yet, I am actually still getting my rebuilt transmission. Shop 1 screwed me over so I had it pulled and towed elsewhere to finish it. It’s been 7 months now… but idk how it would do at the track. A much more simple setup would probably do better, this is more of a dyno/sled truck more than anything. The torque wears out clutch packs pretty easily
@That2strokeRider3 жыл бұрын
@@ConnorRydland oh really? Do you know what would hold that power? 6 speed conversion or still 5 speed?
@ConnorRydland3 жыл бұрын
5 speed. 6 speed conversion isn’t worth it, especially with high power builds. The 5 speeds have the clutch packs for it, you just have to change valve bodies. But the clutches will wear out fast if you’re towing or pushing power.

not that im doubting the numbers but, i put a fass 150 lift pump in my 01 lb7 dually that is completely stock, except it has a banks 6 gun tuner (came with the truck). anyway the fass 150, even the 165 (just looked it up) is only rated to 600hp (150) and 600-900hp (165). i am really doubting that the 150 can keep up with twin turbo's, 150 over injectors and still making 1300 hp as you listed. i'm not saying it cant but it may be something to look at, it likely isint making the hp numbers claimed.
@ConnorRydland4 жыл бұрын
Those were my thoughts exactly too, sounds like I need to make a video breaking that down! Fuel rail pressure stays extremely high with the dual Fuelers, so that’s a great question!
@cwbywy95444 жыл бұрын
@@ConnorRydland The dual CP3s/CP4s or whatever you said was in it are designed to pull fuel. Stock trucks don't have a pump fuel pumps. So, you got twice as much suction and a fuel pump. It's feasible to have enough fuel, even if the pump is freewheeling. lol.

@@ConnorRydland I have a 2001 Chevy 2500HD LB7. I am looking for a set of bigger towing mirrors something like what you have on your truck . At present it has the smaller stock mirrors . And I just bought a RV camper and it at least 8 ft wide and it hard to see around its. If your interested in selling your mirrors I may be interested if they are like in new condition. My 2001 Chevy is in fantastic shape with only 95,000 miles and been garage kept only time it saw daylight was when it was being drove. So headlights are not faded paint still in near new condition . Never been driven by anyone under the age of 54 years of age. I bought it from the previous owner who bought it new they were 75 Yrs old . It does have a K and N cold air breather and tow tuner. The truck is as t tight as a new truck. So I am thinking it has somewhere about 300+ hp and 600+ toque which is all I need . Not interested in making it a drag truck. Interested in how long I can make it last without spending money on it, ha ha , really I am 66 years. I do love watching Duramax truck pulls and like it when they beat the Power Stoke and Cummins. Even though I love the Cummins engine. I drove trucks most of my life . Drove many different Diesel engines. Detroits , Cats , Duramax ,Maxidyne they were in Mack trucks and Cummins which I believe to be one of the best. Back in 2005 & 06 I drove for a auto auction company delivering automobiles in a 4500 or a 5500 Chevy trucks that had Duramax lb7 ‘s they ran great and pulled good , better then the Ford Power Strokes they had. We would put about 300 + miles a day 5 days a week on those Duramax’s running them at 75 mph pulling loads ass much as 25,000 or more lbs.
