As an Irish person, in Ireland you usually don't get taxed on this type of settlement. And because of the nature of this case, it is mostly likely that Mcgregor will have to pay both legal teams and court fees according to Irish law. Edit: Also in Ireland 250k isnt a lot for our economy, which sucks she didn't receive more compensation but I am glad Nikita won her case.

The conviction will get overturned. It’s bogus and politically motivated. Anyone privy to things like the CCTV footage will realise this is a situation of a woman who went out partying and doing blow with a famous person all the while having a boyfriend. Theres many cases of wm accusing the man they cheated on their partner with of R instead of admitting cheating. This case is one of them based on evidence

Just to a context. There's many young "lads" here in Ireland that look up to him... the fact that the take away for his gf is shaming the victim and saying she will warn her sons (!!) about women like her baffles me. Like how? What do you even mean. Also, that sum is unfortunately not a lot in Dublin, you can't buy a modest apartment anywhere close to Dublin for this. It's a very expensive city with low wages if you adjust for costs. I wish she was awarded at least a mil.

1:05 This is not entirely correct. In Ireland, you do not necessarily have to pay taxes on compensation or damages, and if you win, the other side may also be ordered to pay your costs. Things that apply in The US, do not always apply in other countries. McGregor’s side however, may well drag things out and try to defer or avoid payment, via the appeals process, sadly

I already commented but I feel compelled to say this. You made a great point when you said we can’t win; when we’re not around there’s a loneliness epidemic that’s our fault and when we are around and they hurt us, it’s what were you doing there. I feel like I want to do the same quiet blaming that men do when they say stuff like I can’t even be alone with a woman anymore because I don’t want to get accused of something. The equivalent would be us saying I’m afraid to be around men because I’m afraid that when I recall events people will accuse me of being a slut or a lying gold digger. Except what they’re afraid of is rare and what we’re afraid of is expected. Not to mention the obvious fear of violence
