I’ve been saying this about Conor for years. He hinted it back at the cowboy fight. The UFC is more responsible for Conor’s record than Conor. He was complaining about inactivity before he fought cowboy. He’s a victim of his own popularity. The UFC won’t put him with just any fighter. He had to beg for a fight when he fought Dustin. Connor doesn't need to keep fighting. He made his money, his hunger is sated. He was great early on because he was coming from poverty, he was hungry. It's what I call 'away from' motivation vs 'towards' motivation. He was motivated to escape his struggle and was willing to battle the world to climb out of the muck. It wasn't about moving towards something in particular he just set out with enough self belief and nothing to lose and did all he could to go as far away from where he began as he could. I doubt that he ever had a vision beyond winning. And he won and started to base his self belief on the contingency that he kept winning. I think it ate him up when he started losing. He had more success than he truly believed he could have. But he lost something along the way. I don't think any success will have meaning until he finds a new purpose outside of being a fighter, something he couldn't find in boozing and drugging. Maybe that purpose is fatherhood. Maybe not.

Chael, you misread this one...Love the channel by the way...Here's whats happening.Dana knows Conner has one maybe two bullets left to shoot and he doesn't want to waste one on Mike. Now, he gave Mike and all of us his word that Mike and Conner are next. Dana values his word more than literally everything else in his life. But he can make soooo much more money with a Diaz or Khabib or Islam or Poirier or even Colby fight...Mike is great but the Conner/Chandler numbers would be a drop in the bucket compared to any of those...Also, Dana wants to save those bullets to fire when he's negotiating his next broadcasting deal...So, Dana wants to go back on his word but he absolutely cannot be seen doing it. So he is waiting until Chandler gives up hope and takes another fight. He can be like "Mike I want you next but it just doesnt look like Connor wants to fight you. I wouldnt blame you if you took another fight while you are waiting"...Also, Chandler would probably hurt Conner and make him look bad. So he's trying to stall them out in hopes that Chandler just moves on and Dana comes out of it with his word still intact. Either way stalling is a win-win-win for him. Watch, you will see I'm right and in 3 or 4 months Chandler asks for another fight and the spell is broken. Thats whats happening here brother...Love the site BTW

Not a McGregor fan but tbh, I can't blame him. Many great athletes have in the past gained so much success and then they lose their hunger. Mike Tyson, Ronaldinho, Adesanya, Usman are just some examples. In fact I can confidently say that McGregor lost motivation right after his fight with Floyd. That bout with Floyd made him at least 50 million dollars. Dude is set for life. He's not the guy struggling on welfare anymore. It's a dangerous sport so if he decides to retire then good for him. However, since they put an ending on that biography that gave/conceded some sort of resolution to the ending of that career, it is now a revival instead of a return, and it is competing with the fun of Hollywood and a world where everyone loves him and money is plentiful. Why go back to getting punched in the face? Why make the person you are fighting a multi-millionaire? They would suffer greater if you simply allowed them to continue their same life.
