I think that is strategically exactly what this whole thing is about. There is no way that Conor cares or has any interest in ice hockey but my god, doesn't he do an amazing job at making it seem so? and saying all the right things to the presenter and camera. This was surely carefully planned, scripted and rehearsed. And regardless it shows Conor is much much more talented than I gave him credit for. He seems like he could legit start acting in Hollywood right away or presenting high profile events like the Oscars.

Conor needs to earn that. Now if he came up and went through the division that would be one thing but he went 1-1 against Diaz and then jumped the line to get Eddie who had a big upset win over RDA. He boxed Eddies ears off but he didnt go through the division. Conor needs at least 1 win against a real contender at 55s to earn another title shot. Now if he went down to 45s he definitely deserves a title shot there straight away and Conor v Max at 45 for the belt is the best fight the UFC can make right now outside of Romero and Costa in my opinion.

I give Conor respect as fighter because not only is he talented, skilled, and entertaining, he was a true champion, willing to take risks and fight others in their strengths where it was his weakness just to face the challenge and become greater. He went to boxing to fight Floyd on his turf. He went up in weight class and fought Nate Diaz. He accepted the challenge to fight Khabib who has the best ground game and Conor's ground game is pretty weak. So he's fearless and willing to fight anyone no matter the disadvantage. On the other hand, someone like floyd is a true fraud. He ducked so many prime fighters and stayed in his comfy weight class never willing to take on bigger or stronger opponents. Until I see him risk something and prove that he is a real champion and come over to the UFC and fight Conor, floyd will always be a fraud. He's a smart businessman for sure, but a true champion? Floyd is not. I will never forgive him for ducking prime pacquiao for so many years until they were much older. Conor to me embodies a true champion.

I don’t give a fook what people think of Conor. Dudes a legend period. Watching him grow in the UFC was something else we’ve never seen before. Hope to see him back in the octagon soon! He needs to get hungry and get that passion back and get some W’s. But regardless of his incidents I’ve never seen anyone more entertaining. When he talks ya just wanna listen.

I don't get the 'Poster boy' logic one bit. He did not just become it mate. He fought his way. Sparked Aldo in 13 Secs, Fough Diaz in 170 in 11 days notice. Lost and again won the rematch. Saying that he good Everything handed out would be wrong. They stripped him off the Featherweight after winning the Lightweight. And Then afcourse who would reject a 100 million dollar purse .

Conor is working hard to expand and better his image in the US..alot of opportunitys and money to be made there..plus promoting his Whiskey and clothing line...even if this guy didnt win a fight since 2016, he is still winning...and even after all the disappointing things he did and losses he had these 3 years....whenever I go and watch the old videos...from the times he entertained the whole world in the interviews and press conferences with the trash talk and funny quotes...to the great talent he shows inside the octagon and winning the 2 belts... to the historic fight against the legend Floyd Mayweather to all the other amazing and funny stuff ..you gotta love this guy and his character..I really hope he still finds that motivation he had at the beginning of his UFC take over and returns to the Octagon and win some fights and entertain us again before retiring
@rogerbrown37305 жыл бұрын
Ronda Rousey got much more attention, press and coverage from the American media than McGregor ever has. She transcended MMA. The American media doesn't care about McGregor at all.

@@Oussmo The only thing keeping Conor relevant right now is his brush with the law every couple of months and his Instagram posts and tweets which his Irish fans lap up. His primary fanbase is mostly adolescents, unemployed to lower class males. Nothing really entertaining about the guy outside of the octagon. He'll fade away soon once his career is done in the next year or so. And he's never going to receive a stake of the UFC. He's just a midget version of Mike Tyson. Except the American media had a field day on Tyson whereas Conor doesn't get anywhere near that same level of press since he's not American. He never even defended a title. Even Jon Jones and Ronda Rousey made countless defences of their titles. Conor never did. Which means he has no legacy worth anything in the UFC compared to many other legendary fighters. He was just a good trash talker with a few good wins and basically ripped the Mayweather act of being rich, living lavishly and acting like a jackass.
