Conor acting humble but only making excuses. Gave Nate no credit for his skills. But it wasn't just your inefficiency, Nate is a great fighter. He has better boxing than people think, but the reason he is so good is because like you saw when he beat Conor. Conor hit him with everything trying to hurt him, and I'm sure Nate felt those shots, but he is so experienced and composed. It's like he saw the exact moment that Conor realized he couldn't hurt him, and saw the panic. And then attacked and kept Conor on the back foot and basically drowned him in there. Nate said it before the fight, he better hope he gets that knockout, because if not it's gonna be a fucked up night for him. He knew it was Conor's only shot.

"He's got a lot of push, he's been doing great, he's got a lot of help behind him...I wish I had that same push." Diaz referring to the UFC's huge efforts to put Conor into the media spotlight, lots of publicity, and huge paychecks as a result. I know the squeaky wheel gets the grease, and Conor's antics have been a big factor in why the UFC chose to make a star out of him. I'm sure it would be difficult to have over 20 fights for the UFC over years of time, only to see someone new come in and have the UFC turn the guy into a multi-millionaire while you are still getting relative peanuts. However, Nate needs to get a belt around his waist for that to happen, since it seems to be the biggest factor in pulling in those huge UFC paychecks.
@theguru1909

+megamania501 The thing is, Conor has the support of Irish people and the 38 million or so americans who claim to be Irish. Other countries don't support their mma fighters like the Irish do, simply because were a shit little country with no stars or famous people, only now and again do we get a world champion boxer or world class athlete, so when we do, we go go nuts and crazy and support them with everything we have. This is why Conor has the ufc where it is and where he is, because of us Irish fans, thousands of irish fans travel to see him, and thousands of irish fans who live in the usa also come to see him, and the american fans themselves. Nate, nor any other fighter in the UFC have that support, thats why conor is one of the most marketable athletes in the world. This loss means nothing, if anything it will help him grow and make him better. He will successfully defend his title im sure about that, then I hope nate beats rda and conor get's his rematch, because i think he would win a rematch based on lessons learned.

These guys forget Nate had about 10-11 days notice for this fight? Wasn't Nate the huge underdog here? So it was Nate taking the risks here more so than Conor.
@machiavelli-thatguyisme3365
@machiavelli-thatguyisme3365 5 жыл бұрын
The risk falls on the favorite because they have a lot to lose than someone who takes a fight on short notice. The 10 days notice was a blessing for Nate because he had the element of surprise against McGregor in the first match. You saw what happened in the 2nd Match McGregor had a gameplan specifically for Diaz. He chopped the legs and beat Diaz easy Skill wise. The only real threat in that Match was not Diaz but McGregor's stamina. Diaz did nothing but took McGregor shots until McGregor was Tired. I love Diaz but that's the True he was ineffective in the rematch it was McGregor stamina that made it a close fight.

Conor and Nate respect each other, and at the end of the day this conference exhibited some Conor humble pie. Both are successful cool fighters. McNuthugger says what? Looked mentally tough? Quite the opposite. The look on his face when Nate enters the presser says it all. He said himself that when Nate started tagging him, he panicked. That's not being tough. Nice try kid. Now be a good boy and finish those lucky charms, it's past your bedtime.

+PsychedelicFerret Not tough? How can you say he is not though when you sit safely behind a keyboard typing shit. He is tougher than 99% of all fighters, he is the only one to win the belt and go straight to 2 weightclasses over him. In what world is that not tough?

+Mrmyagi132 because he fought someone who also went up a weight class who was out of shape.

+Mrmyagi132 it's a 3 week old comment, i know. If i had the opportunity to say it to him personally i would. I doubt he would risk his job punching me out anyway. According to his strength and conditioning coach (John Connor), he fought that fight at the weight he walks around at(168). So no, he went up 0 weight classes. He's champ at 45 is because he starves himself half to death to get there. Since he got to the UFC he has exclusively fought guys that are smaller both in weight and height. Then for the first time since he got to the UFC ,at 196 he fights someone who has a small height and reach advantage and that has 11 days to prepare for it. You know what happened next.

I FUCKING LOVE HOLLY!! her mentality and wilfullness to fight is amazing, and Nate definitely needs to voice his Position in the UFC he doesnt like to talk about how popular he is because he's a humble person but that's not how the money is made you need to be in Danas' face with that shit. and let them know that you know; you have cards in your hands also, an they'll start treating him like a true Prize Fighter.
