I gave up on picking a favorite Conor Oberst song around my senior year of HS and then Cassadaga was released right before I graduated HS (which is like my Wish You Were Here). And he's only put out 98% great shit since then. Seriously, the dude is great. There's a line from Hemingway in his foreword to his collection of short stories published in the late 40s where he's explaining his selection of stories for the collection and he lists some well known ones and then concedes the rest are other ones of his he likes (paraphrasing) "because if we did not like them, we would not publish them." I would say for certain at least that much of Hemingway is brave. Conor doesn't publish too many of the bad ones and he has pretty good taste in my view.
