I will never in my life love another artist as much as I love Conor Oberst. This man is the true definition of a poet. The songs he creates are absolutely breathtaking.

I work a mindless job in a factory and to keep insipid shit like Cher's "Shoop Shoop" song at bay, I sing Bright Eyes albums in their entirety on my line for hours on end. There is a bit of LIFTED built into tens of thousands of F-150s. Until I one day seize the means of production, all I have is a fleeting touch of pride when I see the 2015 trucks and on-- the ones with the hot tailgates and the ugly, disjointed-looking headlights-- driving around and think for a moment, "I made that thing," before I blow their doors off while listening to more of the same on the interstate. Thanks, Conor Oberst. You do great things.

That's beautiful. I think Conor would appreciate the poetry in that.

I still remember going to the college library to work on my Algebra homework. I put on Bright eyes because I knew a few songs offf i'm wide awake its morning. I put on LIFTED and I was transported into the depths of my own self. A Beautiful record and I love this song so much.

This song is one i listen to and close my eyes... I drift away to when i was a young man age 15... The fear the deep sadness. The longing.. To find all the answers to the questions of life and death and love.... Smoking in my best friends car laughing crying singing. His music hits me so deep. In a deep profound way.

Music is not about who can carry the highest notes - sometimes it's about the lyrics and how they make you feel. Conor has had a spot in my heart for 10 years now - his music has gotten me through rough times, has made life feel a bit easier to understand and at times a little less lonely.

Bright Eyes' The Big Picture is one of our favourite songs ever - enjoy this version, recorded in Cologne, January 2017.

This is even more beautiful than the album version

I personally find the album version more special. Because of the changing atmosphere it really feels like its taking you on a journey. This recording is ofcourse also beautifull but i find it less magical than the album version.

I agree with the person who replied this is a great version but the album version is special with how raw it is

My ex sent this to me a long time ago. (Like a dick lol) there's a couple parts that make sense but whatever. I still love him....alot. I can't let it go n I keep fighting to make it work but there's too much hate and stubbornness on both of our parts. I always used to say the good outweighed the bad with him and I and that's why I didn't care about the crazy fighting bc there was a love just as intense. That feeling is still there but the bad outweighs the good now and it's twinged with an exhaustion from trying to make shit work. Maybe that would be different if he hadn't left. Maybe we would have been able to string together some form of truce thru a series of late night drunken talks bc Lord knows you can't make up with sober him without making up with drunk him. But I don't drink and I'm too tired to fight and the fact that he left makes me believe that I should too. It's been like two fuckin years and I'm still not completely okay. I'm stuck in between trying to rationalize the fact that he left me and if he wanted to make it work and talk to me he would or am I supposed to be the one who fixes this shit? If loyalty is not talking to someone then I'm loyal as it gets but I can't fix something that doesn't think it's broken. But then I guess neither can he. So that's where it'll stay I guess. Life is crazy but I wish him the best.
