That’s why I play jprg’s, I feel like some of these titles are like a really nice massage after a long shift. Atelier series for example are my favorite as these are so relaxing and cozy. Thanks for this great video🫶🏻

For anxiety suggestions I think a nostalgic game could be good for some. It feels like coming home to something familiar. For me that would be Pokémon mystery dungeon explorers of sky and Pokémon black/white. My first jrpgs and still some of my favorites

I always love the topic of more chill or “cozy” jrpgs, and your empathy is always appreciated! I feel like turn based jrpgs even if they’re not the traditional type of cozy game they can still be that for some people. I’ve been playing some Pokémon Mystery Dungeon while I’ve been needing something chill, because it’s so nostalgic to me. Nostalgia is always such a powerful factor in the chill zone 🤭

I think many of us are drawn to JRPGs because they are about the goodness of people united by compassion and the power of those people to effect positive change. I mean, how many are about a found family succeeding literally with the power of friendship? It feels aligned with the genre and the presenter in this case. Thanks for that. Just stumbled upon your channel and love it. I'm surprised you didn't include Animal Crossing on the Nintendo Switch.... That game is the ultimate stress reliever, you can't do anything wrong. That game got me through the COVID lockdown, I put in well over 300 hours into that game.

I would like to add My time at Sandrock. Its more RPG then people give it credit for. Its has a nice western setting. The combat while not a detailed as a full JRPG its got its own combat perk tree and 4 different weapon types. The story is somewhat like the Atelier series. And the devs are very good and openly talk with the community. They also just finished kickstarting the next game in my My Time series and it got 2.9M. And takes place 3 years after Sandrock.

The choice of what game helps anxiety is so personal. I know for some like me, dark souls is that. While the world of dark souls is dire at best, it forces me to unwind from my days and focus. And also helps me through the fact that with calm, patience and thought, you can overcome any adversity

I was sure harvestella would make the list. I agree about "task games" being relaxing. My daugther loves story of seasons pioneers of olive town. Maybe nostalgia is talking but I would recommand final fantasy X. I think the linearity of the games makes it not as overwheelming as an open world one. And the music 🥰

I was honestly about to be kind of miffed you mentioned the Atelier series for reducing anxiety until I heard your take. Notably that some of the later entries have done away with the deadline mechanic, as that has always driven me away from the series. If possible could someone mention which ones are without a deadline? I have never liked deadline mechanics whether in Harvest Moon or WitchSpring 1.

@@dananism Yup, you have a map where you can terraform, place rocks, trees, lakes, houses etc. Don't expect too much depth, though. It's pretty fun but not the main part of the game. More like something you get back to every now and then. Took me about 16h to finish. But it felt just right. It doesn't overstay it's welcome.
