Very good information! Thank you - much appreciated- I have subscribed.

Very interesting, and well presented, thank you. Interestingly, much like learning new vocabulary, hearing terms used in similar but different contexts really helps cement the learning and improve understanding. I've been reading about ROS on a couple of different scienceblogs in regards to insulin sensitivity and weight gain, and now I have a better understanding in both contexts. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge, thank you.

I followed as much as I could, very technical. I really enjoy your channel and as I get older the subject of aging theory interests me more and more. Can you suggest any good references, particularly texts, on aging theory?
@conqueragingordietrying1233 жыл бұрын
When a subject is tough for me, I reread it as much as possible to finally understand it. For ex., when I took organic chemistry in college, I reread each chapter up to 6x. In terms of my videos, it may help to rewatch them and look up terms and concepts that you don't know. Then rewatch again, but this time with more understanding. Eventually, you'll understand it all using that approach!

Zhang preprint study showed LPS levels

Maybe a less healthy young group, relative to Zhang?

Any studies on effect of arginine/citruline on endothelial cells? This has greatly helped my body heal from aging
@conqueragingordietrying1233 жыл бұрын
I haven't looked into it-maybe you want to share some studies?
@ZoranJuric3 жыл бұрын
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4435567/ L-Citrulline supplementation improves endothelial dysfunction, probably due to potentiating NO-dependent reactions and decreasing the state of lipoprotein oxidation in humans.

Is LPS a factor that hasn't been identified in parabiosis or plasma replacement experiments?
@conqueragingordietrying1233 жыл бұрын
Nope, not yet-they didn't even look for it. That's the other side of the equation that almost nobody is considering, microbes.

Obvious question - what has your cardio been in that time period?
@conqueragingordietrying1233 жыл бұрын
Great question. My aerobic fitness, including aerobic capacity is about the same from 8/2018 to 12/2020. I only know about that period because that's when I started wearing a fitness tracker that records resting heart rate and heart rate variability.

This is all very nice, but we will be dead and decomposing when the clinically tested and approved solution to prevent the inevitable degradation with aging will finally become available for general consumption.
@conqueragingordietrying1233 жыл бұрын
Maybe, but my hope is to live as long as possible to give myself the best chance possible to make it to that day.

If ketogenic diet inproves the mitochondrial functions, is it safe to say ketogenic diet with help you as you get older?
@conqueragingordietrying1233 жыл бұрын
Endurance exercise will likely be best for optimizing mitochondrial function. I'm not sure that any diet can compete with that.

@@conqueragingordietrying123 What do you think about the effect of Light on Mitochondrial function?
@conqueragingordietrying1233 жыл бұрын
@@thebodyclockco Got a published reference that I can look at for that?
@@conqueragingordietrying123 Red/NIR light is able to stimulate complex IV of the mitochondrial respiratory chain (cytochrome c oxidase) and increase ATP synthesis. Moreover, light absorption by ion channels results in release of Ca2+ and leads to activation of transcription factors and gene expression. Brain PBM therapy enhances the metabolic capacity of neurons and stimulates anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, and antioxidant responses, as well as neurogenesis and synaptogenesis.
