Stalling doesn't destroy the clutch, overrevving whilst slipping the clutch is what destroys the clutch.

@@collinslfc not even going to lie I thought just absolutely dumping your clutch destroyed it
@collinslfc
@collinslfc 2 жыл бұрын
@@jamescroft8297 Well yes. dumping the clutch wouldn't do the clutch much good because you are putting too much power through the clutch. On the other hand, stalling is when the revs are too low and not enough power from the engine to overcome the load on the engine. The wear on the clutch from stalling would be no more than your normal moving off.

My biggest problem is that I have had discouraging instructors who have destroyed my confidence over time, they are not as understanding and have as much patience as Richard. Which has put me back massively with my driving, these videos are so helpful in making me not feel like a failure. My last lesson I was in tears because of how badly my instructor talked down on me, thank you for helping me see that it is a learning process and I am not an absolute failure who will never learn.

After four lessons with friends and families, my confidence increased to 90% cum watching all these videos.... please, don't be discouraged, Don't allow any instructor to torture or bully you. I had 4 days of private lessons with my family..i improved alot like a magic! ha ha My instructor said, big improvement! Thanks for you videos. I drove KIA Ceed, my instructor was yelling at me, insulting me, laughing at me. It was really hard to listen to such stuff, and swearwords, he was hating me for everything, even yelling at me for turning wipers for 1 second by a mistake after switching gears and putting my hands back on wheel. All of this it made me really shaky and I was always losing the clutch and stalling the car during the exercises. He forced me to watch the videos on how clutch works, as I if I don't know, while I just was too tired and nervous because of his abuse, and just couldn't control my feet. On the road, I stalled just once or twice, however, he was giving me a lot of orders and punished me, when I didn't followed everything he said. But sometimes he was angry that I didn't do something on myself. You encouraged me to switch this tutor and dump him, I think it's not ok to be such creature. Your videos help me to recover from the stress and help me to learn. Still, very stressfull to think about getting on the road again.

Thanks for being so encouraging . As a new driver, I felt really unfair when being called having a bad habit of not driving straight. It’s not that I intended to weave around when driving at a higher speed. Actually I tried really hard to stay in the center of the lane. It’s just I have not learnt how to do that. I found sometimes very experienced drivers who try to help you practice would not get that how much a struggle it is for a beginner because things are so easy for them. Found your videos very helpful. Will try to put the stuff leant here into practice. Thanks again!

I passed my driving test least Thursday and I've got to say, the biggest mistake i made while i was a learner was treating the white lines like walls. That made me hate driving down certain streets where people do street parking so there's only 1 lane free because i was scared of crossing into the oncoming lane to avoid parked cars. Also driving with an instructor was stressful for me even though he was constantly encouraging me because i thought he was secretly judging every single mistake i made. While you're a learner mistakes are not only tolerable, but expected due to your lack of experience. Also in your video you said that learners often struggle trying to keep up with others, I had more problems when i was the first in line at traffic lights because i was always worried whether i applied too much throttle whilst accelerating, but if i was second or third in line i would easily keep up gradually increasing the gap between vehicles for safety. edit: I forgot to add, but i passed on my second attempt with no minors, i had no minors on my first attempt as well, but i touched the curb while forward parking because i was afraid I didn't go in the bay enough in the bmw 3 series i used in drivers ed.

Congratulations on passing! You have to be prepared to get things wrong and be bad at something before you can be good at something so it's not reasonable to expect to drive well when learning. Learners normally struggle to keep up when they are learning in a manual.

Always find your videos entertaining and informative. Clear, thought out comentary. Why do I watch after driving since learning in the big snow of 1963? Because there is always something to learn. Two thoughts. Why do many drivers see a hole and then try to put their car in it? Why learn a test route? You should be able to drive anywhere, not just on a set route.

Even after driving for a few years now the first problem is still something i do especially in a busy area. My anxiety gets me annoyed even when i'm driving decently. I drive a small car so i'm nearly always being tailgated or roaringly overpassed. I also get annoyed if i rev a little too much on setting off or if i jerk the car in gear changes. As for stalling or grinding gears (in reverse) i nearly see red mist. I need to be more calm, this video is perfect for me thanks 👍

Being annoyed rarely solves problems in modern society. I think it would have once worked when we were cave dwellers, it's a trait most of us still have.

@@ConquerDriving I like these 'echo voice of worry before the explination videos' it's like you know what i'm like 🙂 Are you able to do one about motorway driving? The worries people may go through when driving on motorways and how to overcome anxiety for it. Thanks if you can, if not it's ok 👌

I’ve been interested in cars for a while and since I don’t have a license yet I naturally bought a racing wheel with 3 pedals and a shifter, maybe not the most realistic but it really helped me to learn the pedals in an environment were it was just me and that got daim clutch, oh and playing racing sim games also helped me learn were the gears are and how you can jump around between them, I’ll hopefully get my license in about 6 months

I’m not trying to make other people feel bad or worry anyone else about their progress. I’m just really excited about the progress I’ve already made and can’t wait to tell someone. I’ve only had two lessons, and on only my SECOND lesson I have already done 2 main roundabouts AND driven from one town to another town about 20 minutes away AND done reverse parking. My instructor has said that I’ve progressed way faster than any of my friends 😁

😀 I can relate to those mistakes. I’m still learning to drive since I’m a relatively new driver. PS: I’m wondering if you have a video showing how close can one get to another parked vehicle and then, turn right moving off.

"Discouraging" instructors are a big scandal here in Ireland, there are reports of driving instructors harrassing and bullying students during their first lessons. I still can't believe how the hell someone who's supposed to be a mentor can do this
