49:40 btw just did some quick math. On average, a 1 million rich vein, extracted at the full capacity of a T2 belt (12/s), will last for 23 real-life hours before exhausted. Just some good brain-tips for getting an idea of how long it will last before you gotta start panicking as your whole base starves :D That means that a planet with 10 million worth of ore, will last you for 230 hours. If your demand doesnt exceed a constant flow of a T2 belt (including the roundtrip time for freighters). Divide those 230 hours by as much extra demand you have. So 76 hours for three T2 belts in "full flow". And that is on full 24/7 utilization, which it probably wont be. So yeah... Having a lava world with 20mil of each ore in your starting system is extremely lucky. It'll last you for 152 hours at full triple T2 belt output. I'd say thats pretty much a full Dyson Sphere completed. I'm at 30hrs played so far and im up to 30 degrees. Only 10 of those hours at full proper production. And my solar system only has 3-5 million in ores on the planets.
@siral20003 жыл бұрын
The planet's rotational inclination isn't based on the sun it is based on the orbit of the planet. So if the pole is pointed toward the sun on one side of the orbit it will be pointed away from the sun on the other side of the orbit. Half way in between it will point in the direction of 90 degrees from the direction of the sun.

Awesome to have the Factorio master playing this game! Can't tell you how many hours I spent watching your Let's Play and Masterclass series. For neater X-Ray Cracking, you can put three refineries next to each other. Middle one does the basic recipe and feeds its outputs directly into the outer two. Input is on one side and the two output belts are on the other side (so the middle and outer refineries face opposite directions). On the output side; one output onto graphite line, one output onto hydrogen line and one input from hydrogen line (to cater for the extra hydrogen required in x-ray process - this should come after the hydrogen output sorter). Keep up the great work! Looking forward to more of these!

I was kind of struggling with your unorganized factory in the first episode. You had conditioned me to your *ahem* alignment compulsion over hundreds of Factorio episodes. Glad to see that you are back on track. Also, I do need to see you lay out the solar panels. Just record it, speed it way up and title it something like episode 2a. I for one would watch that. Same goes for the reverse megabase and the "tedious" things. I don't have a schedule that works for your streams or the ability to watch an entire VOD episode, but 30-40 of any building stuff works great for me.

I made the Solar belt around the world while the edit was processing. It is extremely tedious, so there was no recording. The unorganised structure is because I know I will transition to roboports "soon" so a bus build doesn't really make sense

One trick you can use for an easy & modular x-ray cracking setup is to place three refineries in-line (1 plasma : 2 x-ray cracking), and using a single belt for hydrogen transport between them. X-ray cracking produces and consumes hydrogen, so by placing the output sorters behind the input sorters on a single belt, each machine will automatically refill itself until surplus production is reached.

You can build hydrogen way easier by building refineries in pairs of 3. One with the crude to oil process and two that refine fuel to hydrogen. Direct insert fuel and hydrogen from the center one to the outer ones, and have the kovarex ones feed themselves hydrogen from their out line. Tiny footprint.
@Mp57navy3 жыл бұрын
You can put 6 different ingredients into the fabricators. Leave 1 space between them, and bridge over the incoming belts for outgoing. Then have splitters manage the outgoing products. Super modular, in theory you only need to build it twice to make all basic items. Just flip the recipes.
@MrThesin3 жыл бұрын
Also a way to bring in more lanes....stack splitters then connect them at the second level ...you can bridge over your current lanes and put an assembler on each side of the splitter. Does cost a bit of room..but easy way to bring in 2 more ingredients.

a mall is basically just a corridor. at my university we had the north, south, east, and west malls. large open corridors lined with college buildings. the university had been around since the 1800s. the first shopping mall was made in the 1900s. the word was unfortunately appropriated by capitalism. from wikipedia: The term "mall" originally meant a pedestrian promenade with shops along it (that is, the term was used to refer to the walkway itself which was merely bordered by such shops). So yes, you're strip of concrete with buildings is a mall. a hub is a wheel, as you've pointed out in your other video with the polar hub.

@LuigiCotocea Жыл бұрын
What i don't like personally about Dyson Sphere Program is that the automation needs to be exact, if you ran out of space you have to rebuild which takes time. Also running out of resources is fairly easily, but i guess everyone's playstyle is different and it's okay if you play with infinite resources in my opinion. But what i like the most is having my tiny bit cluster that appears publicly against a huge galaxy of other's clusters and they are within millions of them.
