There has recently been an influx of great Sultai generals hitting the tables around the world, but I believe that this scaly naga deserves her time to shine! Join me as I look through some interesting cards to really bring out the best of your Sidisi, Brood Tyrant deck.

One card I've found works fantastically in Sidisi is Laboratory Maniac. People are happy to let you mill yourself out, and then you can use lands like Alchemist's Refuge to flash him in and suddenly you've got a winning position. It's great backup if your opponents can remove your graveyard shufflers. Also, I really like cards like Vengeful Pharaoh. They dissuade people from attacking you, and even if they do proc, you can easily mill them in your upkeep so you don't draw them, getting a guaranteed zombie token off at least one of your small mill effects.

Lab Maniac is a big personal favorite of mine. I can't believe he's up to almost $5!

Instead of shuffling everything back into the deck with eldrazi, i suggest using the incarnations such as dread and vigor so there are always creatures in deck. Then you can use genesis to pick and choose what you want from your graveyard

Thank you for pointing out this Commander wants bit by bit mill, not all at once. Hilarious combos too, and I really ought to put a basalt monolith into my Dimir deck.

Sidisi was the first commander deck I put together. Found a list online I liked and have been tweaking as i go. A few card suggestions from my experience: Splendid Reclamation (as someone else has said), Hell's Caretaker, Filth, Genesis. And if you're going the Mesmeric Orb direction, also include Embalmer's Tools from Amonkhet--mill triggers in both directions!

I'm building a zombie tribal variant, but seeing as I'm broke, it's still a work in progress. I do plan on including some dredge cards, such as Life from the Loam, Shambling Shell, and Dakmor Salvage, as well as Deranged Assistant, which you mentioned. Some big cards that you haven't mentioned in here (of which some are newer cards, so I guess you can fittingly call this necroposting or necrocommenting) are Stitcher's Supplier and Liliana, Untouched by Death from M19, as well as Liliana, Death's Majesty from Amonkhet. The biggest newer card in my opinion is Embalmer's Tools, which will allow you to cheapen value stuff from your graveyard, but more importantly, you can go nuts when you hit a bunch of creatures in a row with Sidisi out. Grim Flayer fits pretty well in many variants, as do Grapple with the Past, Grisly Salvage, Mulch and particularly Satyr Wayfinder. Undead Alchemist is just plain bonkers. Entomb is a must in the deck, as it allows you to tutor for an Eldrazi titan or Gaea's Blessing at instant speed in order to either give you time to find an out against graveyard hate like Leyline of the Void or RiP, or outright dodge Nihil Spellbomb, Relic of Progenitus' big activation, Sentinel Totem's crack (again, a newer card), Bojuka Bog's trigger or any other one-shot graveyard hate. Sidisi is often a mana-starved commander, so Urborg+Coffers is always nice to have in a black deck, and since this is a self-mill deck that creates token swarms, Filth fits beautifully with it, giving the myriad zombies swampwalk; the volume of creatures in the graveyard also helps mana with Crypt of Agadeem for a black-creature-heavy deck, and both Gaea's Cradle and its newer doppelganger Growing Rites of Itlimoc both ramp you very well once you get a zombie swarm going. For zombie tribal variants, Llanowar Dead is a cute if not very fast manadork that does fit the zombie bill, and Nightscape Familiar is a zombie that, while it cheapens everyone's stuff, is a great chump blocking zombie and will help you more often than it does other players. Gravecrawler is great, and can do some degenerate things with several cards like Altar of Dementia. Dark Salvation is a nice targeted removal spell in this deck, as you should have plenty of zombies to fuel it, and can give you tons of zombies if you have some big mana cards out. Lastly, in a zombie-centric variant, Diregraf Colossus can often be a huge beater and also goes infinite with Gravecrawler and Phyrexian Altar.

Wonder! Brawn! Filth! Beautiful cards to include. Not to mention Genesis! You ask whether we'd choose self-mill/dredge or zombie tribal...but why choose? The two themes absolutely support each other and feed each other

I have a primer written on my own take for Sidisi, Brood tyrant on Tapped Out Search for: Toil of the Thralls I actually don't use any of the graveyard shuffling cards, I tend to either find myself winning or already out d the game by the time I've milled myself out. Aside from milling yourself out, you can replace draw triggers with dredge triggers or rebuy cards with stuff like rift sweeper. If you're not managing your deck size properly when you play Sidisi, that's the real problem. You paint a huge target in your back. By then you either win, or it turns into archenemy. I'd love to hear your opinions on my primer. The deck has been updated a little since the last time I fixed it, but it's still pretty up to date.

i have built this deck, and i have some cards worth including: extractor demon with a sac outlet and 4-6 zombies can get half you're deck in the grave the hypo toad let's you draw cards when you mill lands, mixed with rampant excavator you will never miss land-drops 2-3 zombie lords, 2/2 zombies aren't very big. deadeye navigator, 2 mana mill 3 = value these all work very well in my sides deck

Food Chain and Eternal Scourge/Misthollow Griffin to generate infinite creature mana and then cast/exile Sidisi over and over to mill my deck infinitely (with Ulamog in the deck) is one combo I use.

Is this a multiple part deck tech? Cause you basically only described how to dredge in a controled way. No fun shenanigans from graveyards? no zombie buffs? no win conditions? anything? I really love your all your vids but this one feels really strange and rushed and not very well thought out tbh.

I'm sorry to hear that this one wasn't up to par. We had a pet emergency that took most of my attention this week, so I wasn't able to devote as much energy / passion to this one. I felt that I owed it to everyone that I adhered to maintain my posting schedule. I'll definitely consider doing a follow-up video if more people feel the same. Maybe by adding more along the lines of graveyard recursion and zombies, but I do feel like the Mesmeric Orb combo I covered is a win condition with the cards mentioned.

Oh man, i am sorry to hear that. I really hope your little fella is allright! I think in a situation like that you probably should allow to delude from your posting schedule. No matter what I am looking forward to your next videos. Thanks for your work, dude.

I'd say the follow up could involve turning those mill engines against the opponents. Like running Lord of Extinction type effects or other cards that utilize your dead stuff. I'll not make a direct comment other than that one so you can make sure your possible follow up video is good.

I built my Sidisi as a dredge reanimator deck. I took her apart once but rebuilt the deck once rivals of Ixalan came out. With Path of discovery and Worldshaper in the set it was more than enough to get me to rebuild the deck. tappedout.net/mtg-decks/sidisis-opulence/

I would very much suggest hermit druid in a Sidisi deck. yes it's only one 2/2 zombie but the ability is still putting creatures in the yard and with a shuffle effect like dread (not like ulamog). you can now set your self up for a lab man win. basalt monolith + mesmeric orb + Sidisi + dread, also allows for infinite zombies tappedout.net/mtg-decks/elbow-deep-in-muddy-waters-sidisi-dredge-lord/ here's my list. if you get a chance let me know what you think!

The Gitrog Monster and Dakmor Salvage can infinitely mil you in this deck fairly easily with at least 1 other dredge card and it does it does it a couple cards at a time. You will also need over 7 cards in your hand too do it so you keep dredging, milling lands, drawing from The Gitrog Monster, and repeating for as long as you want. Dread Return and Splendid Reclamation are also amazing in this deck.

If you have Skirge Familiar you can use the mana ability to discard Salvage which lets you infinitely dredge on top of absolutely anything (because mana abilities exist outside the stack).
