Yeah but i play it full str with carnifex. I just use my skill into the mass and back off after if i see some opertunity to autoattack i do otherwise i dont go forward and let my units do the work with my buff

I started trying out the medium armor with glaive and would recommend it and plus got my glaive weapon a 14 strength bonus

When you run the numbers heavy armour is actually better for glaive, 50/50 medium gets beaten in stats by full str heavy (even considering the bonuses). 50/50 medium is base 573 armour and +426 damage, full str heavy is base 711 armour +432 damage. You lose 60 slash/blunt penetration going heavy, but that's it. This trend remains true across all str/def attribute variations unless you want absolute maximum damage at the cost of being extremely paper thin, in which case medium becomes better w. full str.

I love the glaive, I use full strength and carnifex. Combine that with a excellent glaive I found on the market with really high blunt damage my breaker of shields is just a broken ability against any class. That high blunt damage for me and the ability to deal more damage means that in most situations I do not require the tankier stats because I can kill the opponent incredibly quickly.

ive been watching alot of your vids since recently getting into this, theyve helped a ton so this is a small thanks..I do have 1 question I cant seem to figure out...theres a cap on my unit make up under warband at 700...meaning i can take 2 purple units and a blue unit to battle...is that 700 cap permanent? or is there a way to get it leveled up and take 3 purple units into battle? If it cant be increased I get why,..I just curious if it can be

So yes 700 leadership is the soft cap, the only way to increase it is to get lucky with armor crafts as you can get +leadership modifiers

Kind of agree with all points you bring up, not sure the extra damage is worth is by giving up the defensive stats you have. I also feel like the aoe damage is very small compared to some other classes, if i hit flying reaper or warlord greeting on a unit the damage i do feels very low, even during DM when there are only a handfull of enemies in range. Meanwhile maul which also has blunt damage doesn't suffer much, even with single autoattacks.

Yeah its a fair point about the extra damage value, I do get a certain enjoyment though when the flying reaper just drains so much health out of an enemy hero but as you say maybe survvability is bettrer

i started with full strength medium armour glaive i have now rolled onto a full armour heavy armour glaive, glaive has high base damage and mediocre damage % modifiers. I personally think full tank glaive can do 70%ish of the damage of full damage glaive while also being really hard to kill. The biggest issue with medium armour glaive is any sort of agressive play can easily be a death sentance 5 palidin hits will insta kill full damage glaive, 1 archer volley at range, like 6 musket shots u turn into a glasss cannon that doesnt output enough damage

Just started yesterday, went with the glaive since I figured I was probably going to get stomped by experienced players so I might as well focus first with a class that can clear out waves of units. Having lots of fun, and can also do decently against newer players as well. What sucks is that it has so many good skills it's hard to just pick 4.

Charge and Heat of battle are terrible never use them, most people go warlords greeting arc of steel and breaker of shields, and some substitute one of the skills for god of battles

Few things: 1 thanks for videos, they are great. 2 would putting a few points in armor (lets say 80% STR , 20% armor... or even 90%/10%) be a viable stat placement to be using medium armor afterwards?

The Glaive as a Niche position in the meta rn. It has one of the strongest ult (Flying Reaper), which throws enemies. This is especially effective against stalwarts, which would usually win nearly any one on one. But you can flying reaper them while your e.g. Paladins charge into them, which nearly erases stalwarts

Glaive is probably the best weapon in CB. Evo you can do ode even to the glaive just like you did it about polaxe.

I'm main spear, but I play glaive in some situations. So, I'm using medium armor with 20 points in Armor and 52 in Toughness. I'm more tanky (29k HP) than a glaive full Strength and from what I see in your video the difference in dmg is not soo big. A few basic attacks (1 - 2) between skills and is the same thing as dmg given by a full Strength glaive. By the way, spear is more funny when you are more tanky than enemies expect. And... I can still 1 shot combo (in the back) light armor and some other medium and heavy guys that are full Strength. XD

@@thegoldenbunny4020 it is... breaker shield and reaper got big %%% on blunt demage so every flat blunt demage help alot. With hvy set your burst skills dont kill enemy and I hated when they run with feew hp. But with médium set i can literaly one shot players and its satisfying. If want tanky class I got much better classes with heavy armour outmatch glaive.

catch up mechanics are also really solid, only been back playing for afew days and already got 3-4 Star units that are 2-3 levels short of max from all the bonus's im getting, only thing i have paid for is the battle pass (which i paid like 6$ and got 1000 currency and 3 days premium as a little deal going on) and now just working on unit challanges to unlock other high tier units to upgrade, its crazy how much stuff you get just doing the quests/dailys and the F4/F5 Menu

I feel like the odd one out with my skills, I run the other ultimate ability, the shield breaker, the AoE blade ability, and then the sprint, though I rarely try to go after heroes in open, if i can get behind anyone I have no problem usually landing my shield break and ultimate on them, have gotten afew instant kills with that combo, but my main focus for my build is usually just breaking the front with my aoes and my units, and the other ultimate seems pretty solid for getting in and doing crushing damage, followed up with a blade AoE and then often a sprint to get out. Again im pretty new to the game and this is all around the level 45-50 range right now, but currently absolutly loving Glaive. As for my record, i tend to only get around 4-6 hero kills a game, very rare for more, but my unit kills usually are 160-240 and top 5 in probably 98% of my games so far and mvp in 1 out of 3, i tried other weapons and i dont even do a quarter as good >.< Also currently kinda a mess on points, i think im about 40% Str, 40% armor, 20% agil, tho il probably dump the agil later. (thought i was 50/50 on str and armor but clearly i forgot about those initial agil points >.

If it works for you then that's the main thing :-D I suspect as you get into the higher tier games you'll find the meta kind of changes and you may want to switch up your abilities a bit :-)

Ye I recommend glaive on medium armor, because of 2 skills breaker of shields and reaper ult... they got so much %%% dmg on blunt so 200++flat blunt demage can do alot. I can literally one shot people and I love it.

I used all weapons except maul and shortsword and glaive is still my favorite class and the class i am best with just love its overall kit it can kill units and heroes without too much of a problem i use Heavy armor and got an eclipse which boosts blunt dmg and gives me 14+ strenght just love it 10k ult is pretty common but i wouldnt recoment useing the dmg Buff rather the anti stun saves you a lot of potential deaths despends on your playstyle ofcourse if you play like me so useing your units mainly to take care of other units and kicking heroes ass on your own then 100% the anti stun

For deathmatch and best dmg medium for sure, yes u are paper but full strenght heavy isnt tanky 2, i think medium is way to go, guardsman 5% hp is literraly useless, im useing blizzard i deathmatxh and i have 1.2k blunt dmg and 1.1k blunt pen, im hitting flying reaper for 12-15k

I'm a Main SS.. I use 75% Armour, 25% Strg. Also if you think in long run, Your equipment can get Strg Bonus on them. I tried Full strg, full Armour, Half-Half. And then got a conclusion... Full strg loses very easily for other classes, might be funnier sometimes when you got lucky. Half-half you dont get the defence you need neither the atack. With the 75% armour you are abble to hold a DB, a Poleaxe which are your main adversaries 1v1., Im more or less 1000 Defence on each Pierce, Slash, and blunt. As I recondition my equips i Try to improve mainly defence Blunt /Pierce if you think about the type of damage that are inflicted on you...slashing might be less needed.. , the 25% are to get just a lit more damage so it doesnt feel you hit so much and dont get so little.. Finally, i think you need to try all of them, so then you know which one suit you, for me these suit my game style, I try to be agressive, sometimes holding against 2/3 opponents this means a lot. Glaive cannot hold fight alone or lead the charge. Its good for hit and run with units and does good with heroes when other allied heroes are in same fight. I became maul in the end after trying out every weapon. I am 500+.

As someone who has been playing glaive ever since you know me, i just don't like not using Arc of Steel, Shield Breaker and Warlord's Greeting. Those have been a stable since i picked up the glaive, and the whole 'ill buff my units' seems more of a supporting role to me....I play glaive because i want to be in the vanguard, not buffing up 3 units of archers around me. i'll play a shitty ranged class if i wanna be far away from stuff. And yes i know buffing yourself and your melee units is a thing, as i have been absent, my melee units are trash compared to whats on the battlefield nowadays. So i'll keep playing the glaive as i always have. Nice green screen though ;)

Glaive is a b tier class at best. The short sword, maul and musket are the best. Glaive is just a worse spear for hero killer and a worse maul for units only thing it has is the damage buff which is good but I wouldn't call it a broken ability. Plus all the top tier classes have 2 broken abilities and going med armour you might as well play spear then

tho its still early for me in this game, only having played about 5 days now (played when game first came out and then not at all till now) Started with glaive this time as a new player, and have scored the top 5 in almost every game and mvp 1/3 games, im not a great player by any stretch but i seem to deal with units at this stage and allot of players quite easily, only really have problems with stuff like assasins if they get me alone, and even when i go down when 2-3 players get me cornered, i seem to get them down to around 20-30% hp before i go down from my heavy aoe skills. Mind you this is still pretty low level, but when playing another weapon class I dont do even close to as good, im about 50% armor 50% str at this point tho not max points yet. I just love the tankyness and the solid dps, tho i think my next class i will try will be maul once i unlock it.

It can feel a little slow but the damage is so worth it as it scales off blunt, makes it sort of like a mini ultimate!
